Will be back in a few days

This is the weekend that I move, so I’ll be offline for a few days. Once I get all settled and get the new internet connection started, I’ll be right back to posting more regularly. It really should only be a few days tops.

Thanks, and have a killer weekend.

Two new prints available at the Viner Studio store

Bloodline_viner.jpg
Jonathan Viner has two new prints for sale in his online store. Both of these prints are from paintings that were shown at his solo show “Target Practice”, which took place last January at the Jonathan Levine Gallery.

The two new prints are “Bloodline” (shown) and “Conduit of Dialogue”. Both prints are on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper and are limited to an edition of 50. “Bloodline” is 18″ x 24″, and “Conduit…” is 16″ x 24″. Along with these to new prints he also has some original graphite drawings for sale, but it looks like those are going fast. There is only two available out of the six that were for sale. Head on over and check em out.

I featured his print “Trance” back in April, and that one is now sold out. Don’t miss the chance to get one of these new ones.

This week features prints by Tara McPherson, Scott Campbell, Chris Ryniak, Pokestuff & Mallorie Freeman. Check it out Here

WWR “Bertie” by Ashley Wood now for sale

ashleywood_bertie.jpg
The very first collectible toy by Ashley Wood is now available. WWR “Bertie” comes in two different versions, Desert Rat Bertie and Dirty Deeds Bertie. The latter is my favorite, the color is a little more my style.

The first 40 orders for each toy comes with a limited edition signed giclee print (shown). I like the print a lot, I wish this was offered on it’s own. I don’t collect many toys, but I am a big fan of prints. Anyway, both versions of the toys are ready to order so head on over if you want to grab one, or just check em out.

Fred Harper studio visit (video)

Fred Harper currently has a show going on with Christopher Conte at the Last Rites Gallery. This is a little interview, studio visit video. It gives you just a peek into the studio of the artist, what inspires him and what he is currently working on.

I really dig his studio, it looks huge. Better than being stuck in one small little room. I also noticed that he holds his paintbrush, in the way that my professor was trying to get me to hold my brush for several semesters. One of these days I’ll learn to loosen up.

Head on over and check out the video: Fred Harper Studio Visit

“Weight of Water” print set by Tara McPherson

wofwater_taramcpherson.jpg
Tara McPherson has some new prints for sale, a set of three prints actually. The prints are based off of paintings that were on display for her “Lost Constellations” show at the Jonathan Levine Gallery this past March. The paintings were all oil on panel, and it looks like these three prints are based more off of the preliminary drawings for the pieces. So they fit very well with being screenprints.

Much like most of her screenprints, this set is being made by Diesel Fuel Prints in Portland, OR. They make absolutely amazing prints, so I’m sure this set looks perfect. Each print is 15″ x 20″, 5-color serigraph on cotton rag paper and limited to 100. The numbers will be matched in each one of the sets. Here is a link to the “Weight of Water 2 & 3 (not shown).

In the Store: “Switchblade Sue” by Arabella Proffer

Switchblade_Sue_Will_Cut_You_by_AProffer.jpg
For the B Movie Show, Arabella Proffer made two pieces. Both of which were influenced by those old girl gang exploitation movies, maybe you have seen some, maybe not. Both pieces feature the character “Switchblade Sue”, the one shown here is “Switchblade Sue Will Cut You”. Both paintings are oil on panel, and are all framed up and ready to go. I especially like this one for th layout, like she’s just showing you the knife like, “Hey, you want me to stick you with this?”

Hit the link to the store and check out these two paintings, as well as the others. A good majority of them have sold so far, but there are still some amazing works left.

“I Vote for Art” officially launched, buy or sell some art

“I Vote for Art” is a new website were you can purchase original works of art as well as prints. The best part of the site is that you can vote for your favorite pieces. So if your like me and like to “window shop” for art online, you can not play an interactive role while your doing so.

The site was started by Ben Rowe out of Australia, he has quite a passion for art, as well as a good eye for art. He is a long time reader of the Creep Machine, and has always been there even when I’m sure I have only had two or three readers.

Anyway, the site is now live so head on over, vote for some art, buy some. Or if your an artist, submit your work to Ben and maybe have your stuff for sale as well. There is already a great amount of work for sale on the site from such artists as: Kendrick Mar, Jason Limon, Mel Kadel, Jim Bradshaw, Tanya Pshenychny and the list will just keep growing.

Check it out, and good luck Ben! “I Vote for Art”

Shows now online: Tim Biskup, Fred Harper & “Unspeakable”

Sorry for the lag in posts on the site, I am getting ready to move so posting here takes a bit of effort. I will be a little slow for the next week or so, after that I am back to full time posting. Thanks for sticking around.

Anyway, here is a list of a few shows that opened this past week, they are viewable online right now.

“Unspeakable” is a dual show featuring work by Joe Ledbetter and Andrew Brandou. It looks amazing, I’m really digging the work that Brandou has created. Check it out here G1988 SF

At the Last Rites Gallery is also a dual show with work from Fred Harper and Christopher Conte. I really dig what Fred Harper comes up with. There are a few prints available from Fred on the site as well. Check out the show here: Last Rites Gallery

Youc an also catch two shows at the Jonathan Levine Gallery, Tim Biskup and Hamilton Yokota (Titi Freak). I really like the energetic art that Hamilton has come up with. Check it out here: Jonathan Levine Gallery

Robert Rauschenberg, passed at age 82

Photographer, painter, printmaker, and all around multimedia artist Robert Rauschenberg passed away this last Monday at age 82.

He was quite an amazing artist, and one that really got me interested in art in the first place. He has a huge legacy of art to look back on, so if you have never seen his work, please check it out.
