New prints available from Chet Zar

Chet Zar has added a bunch of new prints in his online store. It looks like “Black Magick” and “I Want You” are in larger format 17″ x 22″ limited editions of 100 each.

“Abandoned”, “Hooker” (shown) and “I am the Owl” are also new prints. Each one is on velvet fine art paper in editions of 50. Abandoned is the painting that he used for his “Ugly American” show catalog, which is still available by the way.

“I Am 8 Bit” at World of Wonder on August 14th

Tonight is the night that the latest “I am 8 Bit” show opens up. This time the show is at the World of Wonder Storefront Gallery. I took a look at the site, but no work there yet and not sure where they are going to put it.

There is a killer list of artists in the show, some great new ones and one that are veterans of the 8 bit art show. Here is the lineup: Joe Ledbetter, Scott C., Jim Mahfood, Ashley Wood, Amanda Visell, Jose Emroca Flores, Luke Chueh, Bigfoot, Yoskay Yamamoto, Kofie One, Angry Woebots, Gerald de Jesus, Tessar Lo, Gabe Swarr, Jorge R. Gutierrez, Carlos Ramos, Joe Vaux, Joe Shea, Benjamin Marra, Deseo, Mr. Jago, Jude Buffum, Michelle Valigura, Suckadelic, DGPH, Jim Stoten, Tanner Goldbeck, Scott Belcastro, Tony Mora, Nate Frizzell, Elizabeth Ito, ZOSO, The Chung, Ray Frenden, and David Goldberg.

There are already some pics from the show circulating around, and the work by Scott Belcastro (shown) has to be my favorite so far. The colors and layout and amazing, and it really fits the whole Legend of Zelda theme perfectly, kind of like Scott should have always been the designer for the game. I heard there will be prints of these as well, at least I really hope so.

Original and prints by Dan Harding

Dan is an artist out of New Jersey that I stumbled upon just a week or so ago. He has been in a bunch of publications and has some shows coming up. I’m really surprise that I hadn’t come up his work earlier. Either way, I am very happy I am now aware of his work.

He currently has a couple of original paintings for sale, as well as some prints. “Fullmoon” (shown) is one of the originals he has for sale. Werewolves have always been touchy with me, I’m a big “American Werewolf In London” freak, so I always judge according to that movie. And to me, this wolf completely rules. I love the way Dan paints hands in each of his works. This painting is oil on canvas board and is 12″ x 16″. The buy it now price is not to be missed either. He also has a good amount of prints for sale, including one from one of my favorites of his “Isolation”.

Dan will have a website in the next few weeks, do I’ll post that when it’s all finished. Until then, head on over and take a look at what he has to offer.

Limited edition prints by Phoebe Washer

Phoebe Washer was an immensely talented artist that passed away earlier this year. POVevolving had a benefit show for her just a little bit ago. They also have some prints, and a print that is sold out

There are five different prints available, each one limited to an edition of 150. Portions of the proceeds from these prints go to benefit the Phoebe Washer Foundation of the Arts. The print shown is my favorite of the five, it’s entitled “How Well Do You Remember?”. I love the style of the character in this one, the layout and the colors used.

Head on over to Poveditions.com to pick up a print or two.
You can also check out Pheobe’s homepage to check out the large amount of work she did. PhoebeWasher.com”

Erik Jones’ redesigned website launched

Erik Jones has just relaunched his website with a new design. The new layout still holds the same basic idea as his older layout, but is much easier to move around in, and has some very cool additions to it.

The information areas of the site (about, news, contact, etc) are now in an easy to access tabbed area. Links to his other profiles are placed right in the footer so you don’t need to go hunting for them. His gallery still has the same horizontal layout, but this time the gallery is in flash. I am usually opposed to flash, but there are exceptions and this is one of them. The images are large and quite easy to see. It also doesn’t hurt that the loading/progress bar is a sketch by Erik, so it’s pretty cool to see the sketch being “drawn” while you wait.

Hover over the images and you can click the info tab which will give you all you need to know about the piece, a shop (open soon) to buy a print of the work and a detail option. The detail part is very cool, you can basically get a super close view of the works, and you can click and drag the work around to see it all. Best thing next to really being in front of the work.
