New works by Edith Lebeau

You may remember Edith as one of the featured artists of the month just a bit back. Well Edith has been working hard and just posted some new work that I thought I would share.

The new painting is entitled “Circus Ghost”, acrylic on canvas 24″ x 30″. I believe this piece if a shoot off of one of her earlier works “Circus” (shown 2nd), a smaller oval shaped painting that has the same overall feel and color palette. They are both great works, and both still available in case anyone is interested. Head on over to her homepage and take a close look.

“Buffer Overflow” print by Sean Clarity

One of the works that was in the latest “Crazy 4 Cult” show is about to be released by Gallery 1988. As you can see the print is inspired specifically by the very cool “Data” character in the Goonies movie. The print is 15″ x 20″, signed and numbered in an edition of 100. If you have seen the prints that Gallery 1988 creates, you know they are top notch.

This print will be released on November 1st, you can get a hold of them one of two ways, call or e-mail. Head on over to this page for all the info Print Release at Gallery 1988

Along with this print, the gallery is also having a 15% off sale, for everything released before November that is. So take advantage and grab some cool art or prints.

“Flying Fish”, new print from Amy Sol

Amy Sol has released a new print that is now available directly from her website. I wrote about the print this past week for SFWeekly, but the print is too good to not write about again.

The print image is 18″ x 15″, signed, numbered and embossed on the always beautiful Hahnemühle archival paper in an edition of 50. I really love the muted colors that she uses, and that this print features a figure in profile. If you look at the rest of her prints, you will see that full profile faces are present in just a few of them.

This print won’t last long, so head on over and check it out. Amy Sol Store

Original paintings by Dean Mcdowell

One of the artists from my “B Movie” show, and one that will be in an upcoming show, posted some new works that are available for purchase. He supplied four original paintings to a gallery that is local to him, in the UK. This is a great chance however to get some original works from this killer artist.

Each one of the paintings is 6″ x 6″, and even though the site says they are oil on board I think they are acrylic. At least his website says they are. Either way they look amazing, and I know first hand from seeing his work in person that his painting style is a blast to look at. These are some of the painting that got me hooked on his work to begin with. The colors are amazing as well as the texture that you can see in each work.

“Cherry Pie”, new print by Michael Hussar

BirdBath Publishing has just released a new print by Michael Hussar that is ready for pre-order. The print is entitled “Cherry Pie”, it’s 12″ x 15″ signed and numbered in an edition of 88. It also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. If it’s anything like the presentation for the “Hans Memling” print, this one will also come shipping in a nice little folder. The release date for the print is in late November. So if your a big fan of Michael’s work, this would be a good chance to score a print that is surely to sell out very quickly.

I love the color used in this piece as well as the beautiful collar like you can see on his “Morphine” painting. It looks like a beautiful companion piece to those who might be lucky enough to own a “Daddy’s Girl” print. They are facing opposite directions, are similar in color but both works have their own level of sexuality.

Don’t miss out, head on over and brag one of these prints now.

aotd: “Living Dead Girl” by Cate Rangel

Cate recently was in a group show at the Grind Gallery, and will be in a bunch of shows in the coming months. She usually sells her work through Ebay, or Etsy and I am often on both of those sites looking for prints to feature so I always stumble onto her prints and originals. Her work is always colorful, and I love the fact that she is using acrylic to get the glowing effects that you see on each of these images.

She recently posted a new painting, and I was instantly drawn in. I am a pretty big zombie fan and always love it when artists make a zombie painting and don’t make it look too cheezy. Much like the “Zombie Girl From Mars” that Dean Mcdowell had in the Attack of the B Movie Show, this painting is elegant. I love the overall color that she used, the subtle glow around the figure and the eyes. I love it when zombie eyes are done this way, as if all color has been drained from them yet the basic structure is still there.
Perfect!

Julie B’s original art sale

Artist Julie B, is having a sale to clear out some of her work as well as get over some unexpected bills. There is some really cool pieces that she has for sale, and prices are quite nice as well.

Head on over and take a look at what she has to offer, or what she has left I should say. I really dig this painting she did, “Bride”. It’s ink, pastels and gouache on paper, 6″ x 13″.
