“Max” print by Adam Fantome at Curbs & Stoops

Curbs & Stoops has released a new print by UK’s Adam Fantome, an artist that has been making quite a noise at the Boston gallery Art Asylum. The print is silver ink on 330gsm black pike, measures 16.5″x23.5″ and comes signed,numbered and stamped. The print comes shipped “flat in black bound three tie presentation folders with archival acid free inserts. In addition 5% of each sale will be donated by Art Asylum to the local arts project for teens within the Boston area to educate youth on the impact of street art in society.”

The print looks amazing, I love the color scheme, and the figure with that Mad Max suit splattering paint everywhere is very dynamic.

“Marie Antoinette” art print by Femke Hiemstra

Roq La Rue Gallery has released a new print by Femke Hiemstra, “Marie Antoinette”. This print is giclee on heavy stock paper, with hand embellished gold leaf around the border. It is 10″ x 10″ signed and numbered in an edition of 100. The print looks amazing, I like the addition of what looks like a little crossbones at the top. Femke has an amazing style, and this has to be my favorite print from her so far.

“Wide eyed Wondermental” print and new website by Lola

Los Angeles based artist Lola has launched her new website and added a new print to the shop. The print “Wide eyed Wondermental”, is 13″ x 19″ with an image area of 11″ x 14″ giclee on velvet fine art paper. The print is signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity in an edition of 25.

“Touch of Class” art print by Nathan Ota

A Paper Tiger has released a new print by Nathan Ota. This print comes from a painting Nathan had in his “Way Way South” show at the La Luz De Jesus Gallery last October. The painting sold, but the print is ready to go. It’s 12″ x 15″ signed and numbered in an edition of 25.

“Requiem” art print by Sylvia Ji

Theartprint.com is getting ready to release a new limited edition print by Sylvia Ji. This new print is 12″ x 24″ , signed and numbered in an edition of 100. The print will be available for purchase on February 1st.

“Fierce Fashion” at Eclectix Gallery

The group show “Fierce Fashion” opens this Friday Jan 16th at the Eclectix Gallery in El Cerrito. The shows themed is loosely based on fashion and persona. There are some amazing artists in the show, and many that have been featured on the Creep multiple times.

Art of the Day: “The Clergy: Monk” by E. Gauger

It’s been almost a month now since I have done an “Art of the Day” feature, so what better way to start back up than to show some work by Berkeley artist E. Gauger. This painting is entitled “The Clergy: Monk” and is 5″ x 7″; pencil, brick red and black ink on clay-board. I love how she used an Exacto knife to scratch out the highlights.

This painting is a part of a tryptich the artist is creating for a friend, how lucky is that? It’s an amazing painting and I’m sure in person is even more dynamic. I like how subtle the background is, but still very detailed. Almost like an old cabinet photo, and it really helps to draw your eye to that face. This tryptich is not done yet so you can be sure I will be posted the full, finished piece soon. I just had to post this one as a teaser. It was too good to pass up.

“Girl with Mountain Backdrop” original by Lisa Falzon

Lisa Falzon has again updated her Etsy shop with a new original oil painting. This new painting is oil on canvas 10″ x 14″. The colors in this one are great, and I really like the way that she handled the background. The details in the back are kind of like the soft focus that you would get with a camera, and really helps to not distract from the figure.

“Sideshow” now up at T&P Fine Art

Mark Ryden’s “Fur Girl” Lithograph

Saw this is the e-mail today, as well as on a handful of other sites. Porterhouse Fine Art Editions will be releasing a limited edition lithographic poster of Mark Ryden’s “Fur Girl” painting this coming January 20. This new painting is for his upcoming solo show at Tokyo gallery Tomio Koyama.

The poster, argh I hate that word, will be on heavyweight paper 33″ x 23 1/8″, signed and numbered in an edition of 500. It is embossed with the Porterhouse seal and comes with a certificate of authenticity. These are sure to go fast so if you’ve been eyeballing one of these get ready.

Preview: Tara Mcpherson, Jim Houser & Doze Green @ Choque Cultural

Coming this January 17th at the Choque Cultural Gallery in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is a group show featuring new works by Doze Green, Jim Houser and Tara McPherson.
The images for Doze Green and Tara Mcpherson are up on the site, nothing from Jim Houser yet. I really like the new from Tara, thee are no prices on the site as of yet. I do hope some prints are made from a few of these, like “From the Abyss” (1st below) would make a killer print for those of us unable to score the original.
