Kathie Olivas “Bittersweet” show preview

KathieOlivasTheDeciderWithParasiteo.jpgOpening February 29th at the Gallery 1988 in San Francisco, Kathie Olivas will have a solo show entitled “Bittersweet”. The show will feature new paintings, along with custom vinyl figures and some sculptures.

The show looks amazing, there is so much work being displayed it’s pretty staggering. I’m so glad that there are sculptures at this show, it’s not often that you get to see sculpture work like this. My favorite piece so far is “The Decider (with Parasite)” shown above. It’s oil on epoxy resin and is a huge 23 inches tall.

If you want to check out the preview and maybe buy some work before the show officially opens, head on over to the preview.

Kathie Olivas rocks. I learned about her after reading her interview with Brian Sherwin. She reminds me of Mark Ryden, but more forceful with the world she has created.
