This past Saturday, October 23rd, the highly anticipated solo show from Tara McPherson opened at the Jonathan Levine Gallery. The show entitled “Bunny in the Moon” and is filled with work inspired from mythology found from cultures around the world. This is quite a large amount of work created for this show, not only oil paintings but drawings, and even some fabric flowers. Right next door in second part of the gallery was “At the End of the Rainbow” by Xioqing Ding, this is her debut exhibition in New York. She has a very classical style to her work, and you can even see some references to classical paintings and allegories, such as the three graces and Venus. Both shows are now up on the galleries site, and are a must see.
