Shawn Barber video now at Sketch Theatre

February 2, 2008

I know I have posted this before, but I have to say once again that Sketch Theatre rules. I love watching the process that each artist has. Whether it’s drawing or painting, you get to see how they might go about things and often how much work is really put into it. It’s so easy to think that many of these artists just belt work out in minutes.

This new drawing video shows Shawn sketching a skull and the end product looks great. I think he’s using either really soft pencils or maybe even a charcoal pencil. The smudging and blending gives it that effect.

Any artists you would like to see do a video for Sketch Theatre? Say who in the comments here.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that based on my own drawing experience it looks like Shawn Barber is using charcoal for his skull drawing. The orange pencils look a lot like Generals brand charcoal and the black pencil with the orange stripe is a Derwent brand graphite pencil. (Maybe for a tighter line). Anyway, I agree that sketch theatre rock. Thanks for posting.
