Agnieszka Futa, otherwise known as Sawayaka is an artist out of Poland. She has an amazing style, with what looks like some really great influences.
You can see Japanese woodblock art & manga in her work, but at the same time there is that “underground” kind of look that alot of comic illustrators have. The look has this nice lo-fi quality to it, almost as if its been done on paper as opposed to digitally.
She has an amazing gallery, and is also taking commissions, so head on over and take a look at her work and maybe have a piece of art made as well.

This specific piece is a the cover for Benjamin Cee’s comic “Plump Oyster” issue #3. I’m going to be buying up alot of underground comics and what not, and while searching for some I really got hooked on this cover.
Benjamin has a great style, very colorful and each piece is mad eye candy. Alot going on in these pieces, it’s pretty cool that he is able to fit so much into each piece, but they are still balanced well. He does comic strips, comics, paintings on canvas and so on. Benjamin is is one artists from a pretty hefty list of great artists from Australia.
Check out his profile and homepage, also if you can try to score some of his comics. He has a few new ones out as I’m told.

“7″ is from an artist out of South Korea known as greno89. It looks to me as its watercolor, and shows how well the artist can control the medium. I’ve been on a watercolor kick lately, and this piece not only fits that bill, but is very powerful.
The artist said this piece was made after he failed the entrance exam for a University. I can feel it just looking at this piece, I can think of all the time I have felt like this before. The color matches the mood perfect. The design int he background gives me the feeling this person is in a bathroom, or somewhere else that is just cold and sterile.
I really love this piece. This artist has an amazing gallery. After your done gawking at this piece, head on over and look at the rest of his gallery.

It’s been a while since i’ve chosen a photo for art of the day. So here a piece by an artist from Chile known as Loganart.
I really dig the angle of the photo, and the color is amazing. he says that the photo was taken in the summer. The sky looks quite nutty in the background, looks like a summer day I’ll never see in the area I live in. I really like how old and dingy the photo looks, but there is still a good amount of contrast to it.

Today we have a vector piece from an artist out of Switzerland known as Limkis.
I chose this piece for the colors, nice bright reds really punch you in the eye, and of course because it’s a full vector piece. I think vector can look amazing when it is done well. It can be very artistic maybe I should say. The way Limkis works with the vector shapes, it’s like they are laid down like a brush would do. Very cool. Take a look at her whole gallery, she has this style consistently throughout all her pieces.
I love finding vector art that looks like the artist spent a considerable amount of time on the piece, as well as defining a style that is recognizable as their own.

This piece is by Tomek Karelus from Warsaw. Its a digital piece, and from what the artist said it’s well over 100 layers! That’s pretty impressive.
I think what is most impressive and what really caught me about this piece is how much is looks like acrylic paint. Some nice dry brush style, like Amanda Visell does. Of course the colors and characters are top notch as well.
Head on over to the artists profile and take a look at all his amazing art.

Todays piece if from Richard Pellegrino, he’s an illustrator and has an amazing portfolio.
It was hard to narrow down which piece of his I wanted to show, so I picked this for a few reasons. I really like the colors used in this piece, and I really like that the face is not visible at all. I also love the movie so it helped my decision even more.
Head on over to the artists homepage and see all of his work.

The piece above is from MaĆgorzata Maj, an artist from Poland known as Sarachmet. She is a digital artist, that takes the photos, manipulates them and also paints and draws on them. Giving her pieces a unique quality to them, one that allows you to instantly recognize her work, once you become a fan of it of course.
If you look through her gallery there are so many great pieces, I chose the one above because of the feel and color scheme. The image reminds me of a beautiful hand painted Daugerrotype, with a nice amount of contrast, nice rounded corners, and a signature that fits well with the overall image. The colors are the most intriguing to me, sepia with a nice splash of crimson. It has a nice aged look to it, but it’s so dynamic you know its recent.
I would love a print of this, a giclee print on wood panel with soft rounded corners. Head over to he profile to see her other works, she also adds descriptions to each of her works, background stories really.

Today’s piece is from Heather Horton, she is from Ontario, Canada.
What caught me the most about this piece, was first the colors, I love the way the blue shirt and skin tones site in front of that white wall. Very striking. I also love the brush work, it looks like she has a very loose, but still controlled style. The background looks very energetic, while the figure has some loose strokes, but still very controlled.
It’s work like this that really makes me want to see it in person. The web is great, but there is nothing like seeing the work up close.
Check out the rest of her work on the following pages:

This piece is by James Ryman. It is oils on canvas, and is about 8×10.
I love zombies, and this is a great painting of one. Often I see zombie artwork that is rushed and quite cheezy looking, but this piece looks great. This is quality work, right along the lines of Brom and Wes Benscoter.
It also happens that this piece is for sale here, head on over to the artists main site to not only look at more great art, but maybe to buy buy yourself (or me) this piece of art.
