Tara McPherson Ningyo Gosho Doll Pre-Order

January 7, 2008

gosho_tara.jpgTara Mcpherson’s Ningyo Gosho doll is an exclusive of Newbury Comics. They are now doing a pre-order for this doll. The doll is limited to 300 pieces, but knowing how long Tara’s toys have lasted in he past this one will surely be scare soon.

The doll looks amazing. The figure itself is a great design and then you add Tara’s amazing color schemes, how could you go wrong? The past toys she has done haven’t been very big but this one is around 10 inches tall.

Head on over if you want to pick one of these guys up.

Ashley Wood’s “World War Robot” preview

December 9, 2007

desert_bertie_piantjob.jpgI’ve been watching Ashley’s blog for a while, to find out exactly what this “WWR” project is. Well, they now have a preview image of this very cool collectible.

It will be called “WWR Release 1.0 Rothchild Mechanics P-57 AKA Bertie the Pipebomb”. This robot will hit the stores April 2008. I really dig the paintjob on it, it’s 14 inches tall, and the killer part is that it has 43 points of articulation.

The pic says Desert Bertie paintjob, does this mean that there will be more than one paintjob to choose from, or how cool would it be if it was like the Dunny? Design your own Bertie.

Runaway Brain - Mickey Mouse

May 9, 2007

vcdmickey.jpgneonmickey.jpg
I’ve never been the biggest fan of Mickey Mouse, I like my animation a little bit nuttier (Ren & Stimpy, Futurama, etc). But while looking through the KidRobot catalog, I saw a new vinyl toy that looks amazing. The above “Runaway Brain” Mickey VCD character is based off of a 7 minute short that was made in 1995. This “maniac” Mickey is created when a monster (Julius) and Mickey switch brains.

These have got to be the coolest looking Mickeys I have ever seen, if Mickey looked like this all the time, I would be an avid fan. However in the animated short, he’s crazy for just minutes, if that. So this vinyl toy, and a few other like it can let you enjoy the maniac Mickey full time.
