This painting by Heather Watts was done for the “Attack of the B Movie Show”. It was one of the more unique works in the show, as not only is it super cool looking, but it’s acrylic on velvet!

Heather Watts is known for her Tiki genre paintings, and this one fits quite well in that scheme, but it also hits the zombie fan. The figure in the works in a character from the Planet of the Apes, but as you can see it’s been “zombified!!”. This piece looks amazing in person, and honestly makes me want to design a room around this painting. This one is still available in the Creep Store and the price is very nice. Switchblade_Sue_Will_Cut_You_by_AProffer.jpg
For the B Movie Show, Arabella Proffer made two pieces. Both of which were influenced by those old girl gang exploitation movies, maybe you have seen some, maybe not. Both pieces feature the character “Switchblade Sue”, the one shown here is “Switchblade Sue Will Cut You”. Both paintings are oil on panel, and are all framed up and ready to go. I especially like this one for th layout, like she’s just showing you the knife like, “Hey, you want me to stick you with this?”

Hit the link to the store and check out these two paintings, as well as the others. A good majority of them have sold so far, but there are still some amazing works left.

Today’s art of the day is from Brandi Read, yet another amazing artist that will be showing work in the B Movie Show. Every time I see one of her new paintings I am always blown away. The backgrounds are often these extremely intricate patterns, she can paint cloth perfectly, and the figures always look so lifelike.

She painted an amazing piece for the show. I’m very happy to have her in the show to begin with, and then she paints a B Movie homage that the show wouldn’t be complete without. I’ll be making some prints from some of the works in the show, and her work is on the list.

This piece is actually available for sale at the Thinkspace Gallery. Here

vengefuldunces_alexkuno.jpgWith the B Movie show approaching quickly, I thought I would use the Art of the Day section to start featuring art from the participating artists of the show. I’ve seen a majority of the art for the show, and I’m blown away. There is some really amazing work and it has all far exceeded my expectations for this show.

So today’s piece is from Alex Kuno, he submitted a really fun piece for the show. The one shown above is an earlier work. This piece is 8″x10″ and I believe is watercolor and maybe even some acrylic paint. I really love the way Alex paints faces, the style of drawing added with the colors he uses really creates this timeless illustrative quality to his work. The scenes are always twisted and surreal. I’m really happy to have him in this show.

If you would like to see a preview of the show, message me and I will send you a link I have created for pre-sale. Otherwise, make sure you head on over and check out the rest of Alex’s work.
