“Wrestle Her” print by Brian Viveros

Just this past week, on October 2nd, the Dirtyland show by Brian Viveros opened at the Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City, CA. The show has original paintings, hand embellished prints, and even some bronze sculptures. Along with the new works for this exhibition, the gallery has released a new limited edition prints based on one of the paintings in the show entitled “Wrestle Her”. The print is 18″ x 14″ on Museo Portfolio Rag paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 50. Check out the show and prints over at the galleries site.

Preview: The Lowbrow Tarot Project @ La Luz de Jesus

The Lowbrow Tarot Project, guest curated by Aunia Kahn, won’t open until October 1st but the images are on the website now to check out and there is some pretty amazing work to be seen. 23 artists were given the opportunity to recreate the 22 cards (+back card) of the Tarot deck. The list of artists is quite impressive; Chet Zar, Christopher Ulrich, Edith Lebeau, Chris Mars, Carrie Anne Baade, Cate Rangel, Kris Kuksi, Brain Viveros, Molly Crabapple, Heather Watts, Laurie Lipton, David Stoupakis, Scott G Brooks, Daniel Martin Diaz, Danni Shinya Luo, and more. Shows this weekend: Alex Gross & “Transgression”

“Isn’t it Romantic” opens at the Mahan Gallery in Ohio. It features work by Jenny Hart, Arabella Proffer and more. Check it out here: Mahan Gallery

On Saturday at the Copro Nason gallery two shows open, Noferin’s ” The Start; or Where We Begin.” and Jeff Gillette with “Blight”. Check out the show here: Copro Nason

Then at the Jonathan Levine Gallery we have three shows, Alex Gross with “Mysteries and Manners” as well as Erik Mark Sandberg & The Date Farmers. I’m big fan of Alex Gross, the works for the show not only look amazing but they are huge! Check out the shows here: Jonathan Levine Gallery

Finally we have the very first show the Last Rites Gallery in New York. The gallery was started by Paul Booth and Genevive Zacconi. There are going to be some killer shows from this gallery in the coming year, such as this first show.
