Gallery Nucleus has added some new prints to their online shop, one of which is “Manfungus 1.3″ by Christian Rex van Minnen. I was first taken in with van Minnen’s work due to the similarity to 16th century painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo, although I find the formers work more interesting. The print is a giclee on velvet fine art paper, 18″ x 24″, signed and numbered in an edition of 25.

This past weekend, February 27th at the Gallery Nucleus, the group show “Curiouser and Curiouser: Inspired by Alice in Wonderland” opened up. The show has never before seen concept art for the upcoming movie, maquettes for the new movie were also on display (courtesy of Gentle Giant Studios), and 40+ artists showcasing work inspired by this classic story. A few the artists in the show include: Alberto Cerriteño, Allison Reimold, Amy Sol, David Ho, Kukula, Marguerite Sauvage, Naoto Hattori, Jason Seiler, Bobby Chiu, William Stout and more.

Here are a few images of works that really stood out to me, head on over afterwards and see the entire show.

Digital artist David Ho (Interviewed), has added some new images to his website. His latest series of works is entitled “Element 5″ and focuses on the 5 elements: Earth, Fire, Metal, Water and Wood each one personified. David will also have some work in the upcoming group show “Curiouser and Curiouser: Inspired by ‘Alice In Wonderland” @ Gallery Nucleus this coming February 27th. I have always been a big fan of the imagery that David creates, and am happy to see his art getting into some galleries as well.

Take a look at the series, and then head on over to his site for more: David Ho Homepage

Gallery Nucleus has added a new print to the online shop, this one by the amazing Eric Fortune. The print comes from the painting “A Want to Believe” shown at Copro Nason Gallery last December. It is also one of the first paintings I saw by Eric that really switched me on to his work. The print is 14.75″ x 20.75″ (roughly the same size as original) on watercolor paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 30 for $125.
