Shows this weekend: Mike Stilkey, Scott Belcastro & Terrible Yellow Eyes

Here is the rundown of shows that will open this weekend.

Friday:
Dirty Pilot will open “Friends With Knives” a group stencil show

London Miles Gallery will open a new solo show from Scott Belcastro entitled “Nothing Gold can Stay”

David B Smith Gallery will open “Words Fail Me” from Mike Stilkey

Gallery 1988 SF will open “Now Playing”, custiomized movie posters by such artists as Dave MacDowell, Aaron Jasinksi, Ken Garduno and many more

Saturday:
Phone Booth Gallery will open a new solo show from Bryan Schnelle, the even will take place in Los Angeles.

Cerasoli Gallery will have the receptions for three shows that opened last week. Michelle Carlson, Hellovon and Derek Albeck.

Gallery Nucleus will host “Terrible Yellow Eyes”, a group show with work inspired by Maurice Sendak’s “Where the Wild Things Are”.

Prints: “A Want to Believe” by Eric Fortune

Gallery Nucleus has added a new print to the online shop, this one by the amazing Eric Fortune. The print comes from the painting “A Want to Believe” shown at Copro Nason Gallery last December. It is also one of the first paintings I saw by Eric that really switched me on to his work. The print is 14.75″ x 20.75″ (roughly the same size as original) on watercolor paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 30 for $125.

Friday:
CAVE Gallery will be opening the group show “Just Because” with new works from Anne-Julie Aubrey, Cherri Wood, Juri Ueda, Lesley Reppeteaux, Megz Majewski, Shannon Bonatakis and many more.

La luz de Jesus will be showing new works from Miles Thompson and Dale Sizer.

Eclectix Gallery will be opening “This Town”, a group show featuring work by artists from the Northern California area. Flatcolor Gallery will opening their latest group show with new works from Timothy Karpinski, Matthew Ryan Sharp, Jeremy Ehling, Sohaila Adela, BASO, CHIP7 & Julian Duron.

Rivet Gallery will open “Curiosities”, with new works from Jake Waldron, Amanda Louise Spayd & J. Shea.

Two new prints by Jason Limón

Gallery Nucleus has added two new prints by Jason Limón. Both prints are an 8-color process on watercolor paper. The colors and contrast to “Undying Glow” is amazing, it really pops out at you. The prints are limited to 30 and $60 a pop.

“Cloud House” print by Scott Campbell

Gallery Nucleus has just released a new print from Scott Campbell’s latest show “Home Slice”. The print, “Cloud House”, is 24″ x 36″ 8 color print on Velvet Fine Art paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 30. The original painting was 30″ x 44″, so the print is pretty close in size. Shows this weekend: Super School, Sweet Surrender & This is the End

Here is the rundown of the shows that will be opening this weekend.

Friday:
The Alternative Cafe is hosting “This is the End”. Curated by the Creep Machine and featuring work by 25 artists from all over the world. It’s going to be a truly exciting show. Check the work out, it is now online to view. If you can make it the reception is from 7-9pm.

Gallery 1988 SF will open “Sweet Surrender”, a group show featuring work by Krista Huot, Camilla d’Errico, Jennifer Tong and Allison Torneros. The show will be online at noon this Friday.

Definition Gallery has “Melancholy”, featuring new works by Bethany Marchman, Nicholas Harper and Brandon Maldonado

Joshua Liner Gallery has a solo exhibition from Tomokazu Matsuyama entitled “Glancing at the Twin Peak”. The work is online and looks great.

La Luz de Jesus opens “Everything But The Kitschen Sync” 12h annual group show. Some of the artists in this show are: Dave MacDowell, Apricot Mantle, Bob Dob, Nathan Ota, Chris Peters, Sean Stepanoff, Heather Watts, Paul Torres and many more.


Saturday:

Copro Gallery has two shows opening: “Natural Beauties”, Lola’s solo show and “SuperSchool” featuring work by Scott Musgrove, Travis Louie, Gary Baseman, Sas Christian, Chet Zar, Heiko Mueller, Dan May, Martin Wittfooth, Chris Ryniak, Nathan Spoor, Kris Lewis, Carrie Ann Baade, Michael Page, Ana Bagayan, Kevin Peterson, Naoto Hattori, Amy Sol, Francesco LoCastro, Reinier Gamboa, Mia, Brian Viveros, Dan Quintana , Tin and more. Much of the work is online to view, both shows are very strong.

Gallery Nucleus is opening “Home Slice”, a new solo show of Scott Campbell. He has such an amazing style, I can’t wait to see the new works, all of which should be up this weekend.

Looks like all the shows are opening on Saturday this weekend.

“Skip the Mall” is a group show at the Black Maria Gallery featuring work by Brezo, Heather Watts, Saratoga Sake, Ken Garduno, Tom Haubrick and many others. The show is online right now, as well as work by Juri Ueda that is also opening the same day. Blackmariagallery.com

Joshua Liner Gallery also has two solo shows opening: “Imminent Utopia” by Kris Kuksi and “Departure” by Pat Rocha. Both shows are online, and they look amazing. Shows this weekend: Liz McGrath, “La Femme” & 3 solo at Copro Nason

There are some really stellar shows happening this weekend.

“Uncommon Gardens” opens this Friday at Thinkspace in LA. It’s a group show that features work by Caia Koopman, Kelly Vivanco, Lilly Piri & Catherine Brooks, and Kris Chau is in the project room. This Saturday at the Billy Shire Fine Arts Gallery there are two shows opening, Scott Musgrove and Liz McGrath. The work from both of these artists look amazing, Liz has all new watercolor works and from the looks of it the show has sold out! Scott Musgrove has sold a huge amount of work as well. And the big one this weekend is at the Copro Nason Gallery. Three solo shows, Luke Chueh with “She’s my Heroin(e)”, Mari Inukai with “Infiltration” and Chet Zar with “We Are the Shadows”. I really dig the work by Mari Inukai and the new work from Chet is quite amazing. I see he is using some new colors in his works and I think it looks great.
