Opening this Saturday, December 18th at Copro Nason is the second showing of the Playboy Redux Group Exhibition. This second showing will feature work by Bob Doucette, Glenn Barr, Isabel Samaras, Frank Kozik, Tara McPherson, Brian Viveros, Scott Anderson, TIN, Vincent Cacciotti, Luke Chueh, Dan Quintana, Keith Weesner, William Wray, Gary Baseman, Leslie Ditto, Lisa Petrucci, Lang Leav, Brian Ewing, Andrew Schoultz, Shaunna Peterson, Jennybird Alcantra, Ken Keirns, Ain Cocke, Jeremiah Ketner, Travis Lampe, Anthony Ausgang, R. Black, Jeremy Tinder, Erik Alos, Bonni Reid, Mark Bodnar, Nouar, Shag, and more. I like Bob Doucette’s painting, with inspiration taken from “Venus Anadyomène” by Ingres. I also really like what William Wray, Leslie Ditto, Glenn Barr, and Ken Keirns created. Take a look at the preview and then over to the galleries page for the full show.

“Subtleties of Character” @ WWA Gallery

Omn Thursday, December 10th, a group show curated by Dan Barry entitled “Subtleties of Character” opened at the WWA Gallery. This group show features artwork by Glenn Barr, Ana Bagayan, Matt Dangler, Richard J Frost, Jeremiah Ketner, Luis Lorenzana, Mia Makila, Buddy Nestor, Kevin Peterson, Saratoga Sake, Nouar, Jittagarn Kaewtinkoy, and many more. There is some really great work in this show, I was happy to see some drawings by Buddy Nestor. His drawing style is just as captivating as his paintings, I hope he releases some more drawings soon as these ones sold out very fast. I also really liked Glenn Barr’s “Idyll Worship”, and it just so happens that Glenn has a print of the study over at his shop (here).

“Playboy Redux” @ Rotofugi Gallery

The Play Enterprise and Warhol Museum asked over 20 artist to reinterpret the classic bunny imagery. The show as first shown at the Warhol Museum in Pittsburg, but has been given a second go round at the Rotofugi Gallery. The participating list of artists is amazing: Jennybird Alcantara, Glenn Barr, Gary Baseman, Tim Biskup, Brian Ewing, Jeremy Fish, Mike Giant, Ken Keirns, Jeremiah Ketner, Frank Kozik, Travis Lampe, Tara McPherson, Lisa Petrucci, Bonni Reid, Isabel Samaras, Andrew Schoultz, Jeremy Tinder, and many more. Many of the paintings look pretty spectacular, and fit the Playboy theme very well. I especially like Glenn Barr’s, Jeremy Fish, Tara McPherson, Keith Weesner, Ken Keirns, and Isabel Samaras all of which are shown below. After you take a look at these, keep your eye on the galleries site for the full show to surface.

The Brush Project 2

About 2 years ago, the very first Brush Project was started. The idea was that artists would send in used brushes, sign them and then the fans could score a great collectible while helping out a charity. It’s now time for Bush Project 2, this time hosted by Rotofugi, the charity is Gigi’s Playhouse, a Down syndrome awareness center. The auction is now in full swing, and will go until this Thursday, October 6th. The brushes will be on display until October 11th and then shipped to the new owner.

There is a great list of artists participating this year, Tara McPherson (shown), Bob, Dob, Chris Mars, Dan May, Jeff Soto, Jason Limon, Jeremiah Ketner, Lori Early, Travis Lampe and many more. For the full list, and to bid head on over to the online auctions.
