Opening this Friday, December 10th at the Last Rites Gallery in New York is a duo show featuring new work by Genevive Zacconi and Tin. This new series of works by Genevive is entitled “Dysphoria”, and Tin’s new show is called “The Pulse”. It’s a great looking show, I really like the new works that Genevive has come up with. If you can’t make it to the reception make sure to check out the galleries website for the full show. Also check out the interview with Genevive right here on the Creep Machine.

Wrapping up our exclusive coverage of the Last Rites 13th Hour exhibition and Second Annual Creep In Day, we have some killer photos courtesy of Steve Prue. The Creep In day was a chance for fans to walk in an get tattooed by Paul Booth, who currently has a 3 year waiting list, along with some live painting from many of the artists in the show, and some live entertainment. It looks like it was a blast, hopefully next year I’ll be able to see these events in person. Click the read more link for the rest of the pics.

Dan Quintana and Pooch @ Last Rites Gallery
Just this passed weekend, the Last Rites Gallery in New York opened a dual show with new works from Dan Quintana and Pooch. Both artists have submitted new works for this show, and while Dan Quintana only has five paintings, unless more haven’t been added to the site, they are no less amazing than his work always is. Pooch has more than ten paintings, two of which are on guitars. Check out these preview images, and then over to the website for the full show.

John Cebollero (interviewed) has just added some original drawings, and an acrylic painting to his online shop. The drawings are pen and ink on 7″ x 9″ bristol, and the arcylic painting “Bit of the Apple” is 12″ x 24″ and was seen in the Dark Pop 2.0 show at Last Rites Gallery in New York.

Review: New Breed II @ Last Rites Gallery
The Creep Machine is happy to announce a new guest writer, China Blue. Living in New York, China has the ability to check out some of the amazing exhibitions that open up there, and give the readers of this site a proper full-fledged review. Here we go:

Saturday, August 10th didn’t officially begin until nightfall when I arrived at the Last Rites Gallery’s opening for “New Breed II”, a group show including artists Patrick Deignan, Mark Elliot, Steve Ellis, John Cebollero, Angie Mason, Natalie Shau, Celeste Rapone, Jasmine Worth and Leslie Ditto. I had been absent from the New York art scene for two years while traveling, and I was more than excited to be coming back to one of my favorite galleries. Last Rites never skimps on ambiance – not from the dripping candles, the blood-red curtains or the all-black attire of the hosts. Stepping out of the elevator on the third floor, I always feel as though I have crossed the threshold into another, more sinister world. The title “NewBreed II” denotes that many of the artists had never before shown at Last Rites and all were encouraged to explore a darker side of themselves and produce work with a more morbid or grotesque spin.

“New Breed II” @ Last Rites Gallery
This Saturday, August 7th is the next installment of the New Breed series. “New Breed II” will feature work by John Cebollero, Patrick Deignan, Leslie Ditto, Mark Elliot, Steve Ellis, Angie Mason, Celeste Rapone, Natalie Shau, and Jasmine Worth. Angie Mason has been around for quite a while now, so I’m sure how her work fits the theme. Regardless, the work looks amazing and I really like what Shau, Ditto, and Cebollero came up with. Check out the preview images and then head over for the full show.

Dark Pop 2.0 @ Last Rites Gallery
Opening this Saturday Night, January 9th at the Last Rites Gallery in New York is the second installment of the Dark Pop group show. The shows will feature artists that don’t necessarily always create dark art but will do so for this show.
