“Cherry Pie”, new print by Michael Hussar

BirdBath Publishing has just released a new print by Michael Hussar that is ready for pre-order. The print is entitled “Cherry Pie”, it’s 12″ x 15″ signed and numbered in an edition of 88. It also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. If it’s anything like the presentation for the “Hans Memling” print, this one will also come shipping in a nice little folder. The release date for the print is in late November. So if your a big fan of Michael’s work, this would be a good chance to score a print that is surely to sell out very quickly.

I love the color used in this piece as well as the beautiful collar like you can see on his “Morphine” painting. It looks like a beautiful companion piece to those who might be lucky enough to own a “Daddy’s Girl” print. They are facing opposite directions, are similar in color but both works have their own level of sexuality.

Don’t miss out, head on over and brag one of these prints now.

aotd: “Reclining in White” by Jeremy Lipking

Well, I started my classes this past week and am taking my first oil painting class. I have painted in watercolors and acrylics before, but never oils. I now have a major appreciation for those that can use them, not like I wasn’t completely mesmerized before.

So, while waiting for paint to day I went out looking for oil paintings that made me truly appreciate how far I have to go. There is of course Michael Hussar, Kevin Llewellyn, Sean Cheetham and today’s featured art by Jeremy Lipking. The piece shown here is beautiful in every way, I really wish I was able to see this in person, as these little internet pics remove so much of the experience of looking at art. The nightgown and its transparency is amazing. Jeremy has a DVD out that shows how he paints, and there is also this little step by step if you want to take a look. Lipking Step by Step

Head on over to his homepage to see more work, and order a dvd or book if you wish, I’m saving for the dvd as well.

“The Nail” original drawing by Michael Hussar

There is an original drawing available from Michael Hussar. The work was made for a collaborative project with Steve Niles (auther of 30 days of Night) and Rob Zombie. The drawing was used for the cover of their comic “The Nail”

The drawing is unframed, 11″ x 17″ and like all of Michael’s drawings, and paintings for that matter, looks amazing. The cool thing about this drawing, besides looking completely wicked, is that there is the addition of red, the blood color used in the piece. So the drawing has a little but of color in it, and really helps to draw the viewers eye to the face of the character.
