“Daddy’s Girl” original drawing by Michael Hussar

Daddysgirl.jpg
This drawing that was used for the “Daddy’s Girl” painting was auctioned off a while ago to help the Lithium Picnic defense fund. Well it’s back up for auction. The painting was sold long ago, and print of the piece show up quite rarely and sell for quite a bit. I remember a thumbnail sketch was sold as well, but of course being a thumbnail sketch it was quite small and rough.

This is for an 8″ 10″ drawing, it is also framed and protected with UV glass and acid-free materials. The drawing was purchased directly from Michael, so there is a receipt and most importantly provenance. All framed up it’s around 13″ x 17″, and it looks amazing. I would love to have the original painting, but I think having the drawing would be just as cool.

Check it out here, the painting is shown here you can see the drawing at the link: Daddy’s Girl Original Drawing

I should have caught this one a lot sooner. BirdBath Publishing is selling a one of a kind canvas print of “Widow” by Michael Hussar. This print is an artist’s proof and it’s the same size as the original painting at 8″x10″.

The print will be released later this year on paper, so getting this artists proof on canvas is really like having a one of a kind piece of art from Michael Hussar. It is signed by Michael and is numbered AP 1/1. This is an amazing painting and a truly amazing opportunity. There isn’t much time left so head on over an grab pick up this print before someone else does.

3-Day Painting Workshop with Michael Hussar

hussar_allaprima.jpeg
If your like me you missed the opportunity to go to the “Revelations” workshop put on by Conceptart.org, where one of the many artists teaching there was Michael Hussar. It was a great opportunity, and you can see what you missed in these photos by Phil Holland.

It now looks like there will be another chance, this time in Pasadena instead of Seattle. Michael Hussar will be teaching a 3 day painting workshop the end of this month. The workshop will be taking place the weekend of the 28, 29 & 30th. More details will be announced, but I imagine if you want to go to this, do not wait. Head on over to BirdBath Publishing and reserve your spot now. This is a great opportunity to learn from such an amazing painter. Make sure to message me and brag if you go.

On a side note, it looks as though there is a “Hans Memling” and “Daddy’s Little Girl” print for sale as well.

SF Fetish Ball Gallery Show

hussar_middle.jpgThe SF Fetish Ball Gallery show was great. I had to get a press pass to be able to take pictures in the show, but thanks to SFWeekly I was able to do that. I managed to pull off around 230 pictures, once I pruned them down though I ended up with 100.

The highlight of the show was being able to see Michael Hussar’s paintings in person. The paintings were amazing, and really show why viewing paintings on the internet and in print isn’t the best way to enjoy art. “Vasoline” in particular was huge and took up a majority of the stage area. “Gummer” along with “Saliva” were also huge in size. They were both being supported by soft benches. It was great to able to see all the brush strokes and details in each one of the paintings.

At 11 pm they had an auction. Prints were being auctioned off to help out Philip Warner who also had some work on view at the show. The “White Devil” print by Michael Hussar hit $900. I don’t think you can find that print at a cheap price anymore, but the “Hans Memling” print is still available as well as “Still Life with a Smile” both still around $350.

If you ever have a chance try to see Michael Hussar’s work in person. I like to see any work in person, but this was a great opportunity to see the work of an artist that isn’t flooding the market with hundreds of prints and paintings. These are highly skillful and meticulously created works of art. Modern day masterpieces really.

Michael Hussar “Daddy’s Girl” print for sale

Daddysgirl.jpg
There is currently a “Daddy’s Girl” print for Sale. This print by Michael Hussar has been long sold out .

The print was only limited to 88, the one for sale here is #75. The print is 13″ x 11″ with an image area of 10″ x 8″. I believe all the cool additions that come with Michael’s prints, such as certificate and sleeve are present with this print, but I would get in touch with the buyer just to make sure. These prints rarely show up for sale.
