Mr Christopher Studio Sale

Along with Godmachine a few posts back, Mr Christopher is having a studio cleaning sale. Time to make room for new supplies and work, and in the process give fans an opportunity to score some work for a great price. There is a good amount of paintings, prints, and painted spray cans as well on his Etsy shop, so head on over and take a look.

New prints and originals from Mr. Christopher

I recently posted some new work created by Mr Christopher, now being shown at Last Rites Gallery in New York. As I stated in that earlier post I am very happy to see that Mr. Christopher is still working on hard on new art, and has even added some of these new works to his new homepage and Etsy shop. His homepage is now filled with a gallery, a blog to keep up with new work and news, and an updated list of exhibitions he has participated in. If you check out his Etsy shop you can find some mini prints, custom painted spray cans like the “12 Ounce Misfits” (shown), and a hand painted, and modified cloth baby doll now called “Drunk Fucking Hipster Doll” (shown last). All of the work and prints are priced very reasonable, so head on over and take a look.

Dark Pop 3.0 @ Last Rites Gallery

Last Saturday, January 15th, the Last Rites Gallery in New York opened the 3rd installment of the Dark Pop exhibitions. The artists in these shows focus their work towards the darker side of art, so fans are able to see artists that rarely make dark art create something truly unique. This year the participating artists include Buff Monster, Esao Andrews, Scott Musgrove, Mark Dean Veca, Daniel Hyun Lim, Glenn Barr, the Pizz, Brian Despain, Mr Christopher, Beau Stanton, Molly Crabapple, Michael Page, Mark Elliot, Mark Garro, Gaia, Nouar, Amy Crehore and more. One of the most surprising things about this show is new art from Mr Christopher (featured), who long time readers may remember as a monthly featured artist here on the Creep as well as submitting an amazing painting to the Attack of the B Movie show I curated years ago. I am very happy to see that Mr. Christopher is creating art again. Nouar once again creates a fun, creepy painting. Who else could show a woman biting the head off a chicken, and make it look amazing.

“Where is the hate…?” new work by Mr. Christopher

I’m a big fan of the work of Mr. Christopher, so I was quite excited to see a new painting. The full tilte is “Where is the hate?…A Tribute To Evan Dorkin”. If you have ever read the comic Milk and Cheese, then you know where this is coming from.

This painting is 15″ x 20″, acrylic and spraypaint on wood. I’m sure the Milk and Cheese characters are cut out pieces of wood, one of the many killer touches that Mr. Christopher adds to each one of his paintings. The mouths in this painting look so amazing, he really knows how to rock that acrylic paint.

If you haven’t already, head on over to his homepage and check out the rest of his work. I’m sure you’ll see him in some upcoming shows as well.
