Amy Sol has will be dropping two new prints Saturday, March 19th at 2pm Pacific. The two prints are “Strings off Dew†at 11.5″ x 15″, and “Midnight was a Gentle Dragon†at 19.5″ x 17″. Both prints are embossed, come with a certificate of authenticity, and are signed and numbered in editions of 100.

1xrun has a new Flavorpill Friday print ready, this one is from Dave Kinsey and is entitled “Man From Topanga”. The print is 17″ x 22″ on 100% cotton paper, signed and numbered in a max edition of 125, and I have a feeling this print will sell out.

The past weekend some amazing shows opened up, and this coming weekend will be continuing this run of outstanding shows. On March 19th Copro Gallery will open the BeinArt Surreal Collective’s group show, “Dystopia”. Curated by Jon Beinart, this group show “will place the viewer in a fictional world where personal and societal fears can be explored. Karl Kwasny, aka Monaux, is an illustrator working out of Australia. He has a very strong portfolio and is embarking on a pretty big project that will be finished around 2012. The plan is to complete 100 illustrations for an art book every week. Head on over after the preview and take a look at the rest of his work, he even has some prints available in the shop.
An artist working out of New Orleans, Aaron Reichert’s work draws “inspiration from the dynamic meeting of celebration and ruin – opulence, downright extravagance, sloth and disintegration.” He works primarily with acrylics on canvas, and using a limited monochromatic color palette, and loose energetic brush strokes he creates these dynamic portraits.

On March 12th, Stella Im Hultberg’s latest solo show “Fragmented” (previewed), opened alongside Scott Belcastro’s new series of works “I Dare the Sky” at the London Miles Gallery. Stella’s new work looks amazing. It;s a good mix of her tea-stained paper drawings, acrylic and colored pencil works, and one painting that she used oils with even though she has moved over to water based media. The new style of hair she is drawing really looks fantastic. Even though Stella has less work in this show than Scott Belcastro does, I found myself spending more time looking at her work, it just feels like a stronger series. Another show that opened up this past weekend is “OH, YOU ARE SICK”, a group exhibition with the artists drawing inspiration from David Lynch movies. The show features art by Ryan Milner, Mr Frivolous, Handiedan, Adam Isaac Jackson, Lora Zombie, Garry Booth, Craww, Rich Kelly, David Owen, and more. The show has a very nice balance of art created in different mediums. The gallery will also be releasing 6 prints with the David Lynch theme, two of which have been released. Ryan Milner’s “Blue Velvet” print and Joe King’s “Eraserhead” (shown last).

1xrun has been really cranking out the amazing prints lately. Working along with Flavorpill, they are now dropping prints on Friday, such as “Hair Dress” by Serge Gay Jr, and “Man from Topanga” by Dave Kinsey coming this Friday. This past monday they released a print a new screen-print by Glenn Barr. This is the second print they have released by Barr, and let’s hope it’s not the last. The print is entitled “Vinyl Girl” and is 16″ x 25″, 5 color silkscreen on 140lb Mr French Paper, signed and numbered in a max edition of 75.
