Glenn Barr has added some new prints to his online shop. One of the new prints comes from the painting Glenn contributed to the Playboy Redux exhibition. Travis Louie has just added a couple of sketches to his blog, just was short while after his new drawing show was opened at Gallery 1988 LA. The sketches are small, and as you can see are a but looser than his other drawings are. While these are sketches, it still shows how detailed Travis gets with his work. On December 10th, the London Miles Gallery opened a duo show with new work from Victor Castillo and Luke Kopycinski (http://www.creepmachine.com/lukekoppa). The artwork from the show has now made its way online for all to view. I like the idea that the gallery chose not to show two artists that were too similar in style, even though the show still looks very cohesive, it’s also more interesting this way.
Long before I got into art and decided to go in that direction with my education, I was pretty hooked on electronic music and specifically synthesizers. Moog is one of those names that is most recognizable with gear fans, and even those that no little about the iconic brand. Jacob Borshard has created two prints that show the range of synths that Moog created during the earlier years. Both prints are 18″ x 26″, the blue version is limited to 75, and the red is limited to 6. Thanks to omgposters.com for the heads up on this one.
Opening this Saturday, December 18th at Copro Nason is the second showing of the Playboy Redux Group Exhibition. The first showing was at Rotofugi Gallery, and from the looks of it there is a few new artists added to the show this time around. This second showing will feature work by Bob Doucette, Glenn Barr, Isabel Samaras, Frank Kozik, Tara McPherson, Brian Viveros, Scott Anderson, TIN, Vincent Cacciotti, Luke Chueh, Dan Quintana, Keith Weesner, William Wray, Gary Baseman, Leslie Ditto, Lisa Petrucci, Lang Leav, Brian Ewing, Andrew Schoultz, Shaunna Peterson, Jennybird Alcantra, Ken Keirns, Ain Cocke, Jeremiah Ketner, Travis Lampe, Anthony Ausgang, R. Black, Jeremy Tinder, Erik Alos, Bonni Reid, Mark Bodnar, Nouar, Shag, and more. I like Bob Doucette’s painting, with inspiration taken from “Venus Anadyomène” by Ingres. Jason Edmiston, previously interviewed, has created the latest cover for Famous Monsters Magazine issue number 254. This issue marks over 50 years of this monster magazine being published, and what better icon to have on the cover than Vincent Price? Below is the painting without all the text on it, not sure whether or not Jason will be releasing this image as a print or not. Either way, you can pre-order the magazine now.

Kevin Llewellyn has just opened an online store and filled it with not only prints, but a postcard set, and catalogue from his solo show “The Unsaid” that took place at Kat Von D’s Wonderland Gallery. The postcard set features 8, 5″ x 7″ postcards for $13. The Catalogue is 12″ x 9″, softcover and 48 pages for $25 each. There is also four new prints, that surprisingly have not sold out yet. Dan Harding is the newest artist to contribute a video over to the always inspirational Sketch Theatre. There has been a lot of amazing artists added to the site in the last year, but I am especially excited about this one, as I have always wanted to know how Dan creates those killer looking monsters.
