“Creeping Beauty†@ Hyaena Gallery
Opening this Saturday, September 18th at the Hyaena Gallery in Los Angeles is a duo show featuring new works and collaborations by Rick ‘Dienzo’ Blanco and Eric “Toxic Toons” Pigors. The reception starts at 8pm and goes until midnight. If your in the area, make sure you stop by. “Bleeding Lean” print by Charlie Immer
Virtu Art Gallery is really coming up with some amazing prints lately, I was just talking about Charlie Immer a bit ago. The gallery has released a new print by Charlie entitled “Bleeding Lean”. The print is 10″ x 30″ on canvas, each one hand embellished by the artist. They are signed and numbered in an edition of 30, and also come with a certificate of authenticity. It’s a great looking print, and I like the idea that its a different size than most prints tend to be.

New prints from Alamo Drafthouse
The Alamo Drafthouse has just released two new posters. “Der Golem” by the Silent Giants, which is 18″ x 24″ glow in the dark screen print in an edition of 100, and “Westworld
” by Methane Studios comes in at 19″ x 32″ in an edition of 200. Both prints can be had for $30 each, and will most likely not last long. Thanks to Omgposters.com for the heads up. -
“Wonders and Strange Girls” by Carles Gomila @ Christopher Hill Gallery
Opening this Saturday, September 18th at the Christopher Hill Gallery in St. Helena, CA, is the latest solo show of Carles Gomila. Entitled “Wonders and Strange Girls”, this new exhibition features around 18 new paintings by this mixed media mastermind. In order to create these stunning works, Carles using oils, acrylics, copper and gold leaf on different types of canvas. He often uses alkyd and egg tempera; i’m surprised he didn’t use either of those for these paintings. No matter what medium he chooses to us, Carles has a very unique style. “Things to Come” group show @ Bold Hype Gallery
Bold Hype Gallery has just revamped their website. The design is clean, and very easy to move around. Along with this new site, there is also a group exhibition going on that is worth seeing. The show is entitled “Things to Come…”: Visions of the future, dark and bright, featuring the work of 25 artists such as Doug Boehm, Chris Buzelli, Paul Chatem, R.S. Connett, Brendan Danielsson, Bob Dob, Charlie Immer, Jason Limon, Dan May, Heiko Muller, Nathan Ota, Shaunna Peterson, Chris Ryniak, Scott Scheidly, Joe Scarano, Jim (Ojimbo) Sheely, Allison Sommers, Nathan Spoor and more. I really love the pianting by Charlie Immer (first), he has such an amazing ay of painting something so morbid, but so colorful and almost happy at the same time.

Ron English’s “Status Factory @ Opera Gallery
This past September 12th, Ron English with the help of the Opera Gallery opened a pop-up gallery of new works entitled “Status Factory”. There are over 50 pieces of work including oil paintings, mixed media, prints, and sculptural work. The show will stay up until October 29th, where it will then make its way to the Orange Coast College Foundation Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion Museum in Costa Mesa, CA, for all of use fans here on the west coast. The entire space used for the exhibition in the Soho District was transformed to become a new world, created and filled with the creations from one of the most exciting contemporary artists today. This is one show I would love to see in person, when Ron English puts on a show, he goes all out. Metal “Octobunny” by Joe Ledbetter
Joe Ledbetter has just released a new collectible, figure of sorts. This Octobunny is made out of two pieces of metal with the details engraved in. The figure is 9″ x 9″ x 6″, and includes a 5″ x 6″ letterpress print on metallic paper. The Octobunny is limited to an edition of 50 for $150 each.
