  • “KvD” original drawing by Michael Hussar

Michael Hussar has just released an original drawing entitled “KvD”. This original drawing is mixed media on paper, and framed by the artist. The size is stated at 16″ x 13″, so if it is the frame that is 16″ x 13″, then that puts the drawing at roughly 9″ x 6″. Its an amazing drawing, I love these little charcoal and mixed media pieces he has been doing lately and this one by far is my favorite. I like the fractured look the face has, and the triple eye on the right side. The drawing is current up for auction, and like all of his prints and originals, there will be a battle to get it.

  • Buddy Nestor “Angelic Possession” @ White Rabbit Lounge

Opening this Friday, July 2nd at the White Rabbit Lounge in New York, Anagnorisis Fine Arts presents a solo exhibition entitled “Angelic Possession” featuring new works by Buddy Nestor. During opening night only there will be live painting by Katie Perdue and Scott Cranmer, as well as some new video work by Josh Graham (Storm of Light & Neurosis). I was able to see Buddy Nestor’s work up close before Eclectix Gallery closed, and it looks amazing. I really love what he does with the distortion in these portraits. The paint is handled beautifully, and each portrait is an exciting example of how polished Buddy’s style is. Take a look at these few preview images, and if you can’t stop by the White Rabbit Lounge in person, make sure to check out the full show at the link provided.

  • David Kassan finger painting on the Ipad

One of the the things I know many artists were excited about when the Ipad was announced, was the ability to use the device as a sketching/painting device. It would be nice and easy to just bring that thing around and quickly put down some ideas. David Kassan has a video that shows how powerful this tool can really be. Using a new app called “Brushes”, Kassan paints a 3 hour portrait and shows that in the right hands the Ipad can help artists create beautiful works of art, and play games and check your e-mail. Take a look at the video below. Makes me want to get an Ipad now, and be able to paint as well as Kassan can.
