“Esther” print by Ana Bagayan
Ana Bagayan has just released a new print in her online shop. “Esther” is 18″ x 11″ on 22″ x 15″ Hahnemuhle Fine Art Paper with archival inks. The print is signed and numbered in an edition of 20 for $75 (+10 shipping).
I also noticed that the “Prey” print is still available. I ordered one of these and it looks amazing, well worth the $25 you spend, and 100% of the proceeds go to help Lunch Bunch. Small price to pay for great art and the ability to help someone else. -
Preview: Scott G. Brooks @ Last Rites Gallery
Coming this Saturday Sept 12th to the Last Rites Gallery in New York, is a duo show with new works from Scott G. Brooks and Jeff McMillan. Scott G Brooks new series of works is entitled “Domestic Terror” and is best said in his words: “We called the show “Domestic Terror†because the work deals with the wide range of issues that could fall under that heading. Several paintings focus on the terror that happens on the home front, such as dysfunctional families and screwed up relationships, while others focus on the political and corporate forces terrorizing us. All the paintings are based on news stories we’ve been subjected to recently. It seems like there is so much craziness going on right now and I try to capture just a little taste of that in my work.”
I love the idea of artists actually addressing some of the issues that we see all around us. While it is nice to escape into a completely made up world, something to take us away from the negative aspects of life, I think having “blinders” on the majority of our days is a bad idea. There sadly doesn’t seem to be too many current artists addressing some of the negativity, but it’s nice to see that exceedingly talented artists like Scott G Brooks are dealing with these issues and making the imagery a blast to look at.

The third installment in the Process Recess book series is now available. PR Vol 3 is now available from James’ online shop. The limited edition of the book has now sold out, but this version is ready to go. The book is hardcover, 248 4c pages, 9″ x 6″ with a die-cut and embossed cover for $34.95.
There are a few previews around that show what is inside the book, but with the quality of work that James creates, I’m sure this book is going to be amazing. -

Jeremy Forson @ Edo
Just this past Friday, Sept 4th at Edo in San Francisco, Jeremy Forson opened his solo show “The Lost Fight”. These new paintings are a bit of a change from Jeremy’s previous works. The colors are a bit more intense in some areas, and it appears that he is spending more time during the initial stages of each painting. The subjects all center around San Francisco. I really dig how he incorporated the figures and buildings in some of the works, sharing the same space but not being plunked down in front of each other as if they were just photos. I have been a fan of Jeremy’s work for some time now, and I really like these new paintings. The show is up until 11/4, I plan on seeing them in person soon.
Jeremy has some reception photos on his blog: Jeremy Forson Blog
