  • Dan Harding originals for sale

Dan Harding, one of the featured artists from this last year, is having a huge sale. He is selling paintings as well as drawings to help make some room. There are some amazing pieces for sale, and the prices are quite nice as well. Drawings start at $70 and paintings start at $80. The pictures do not fully show how intricate and skilled Dan is with oils and graphite, but I can assure you seeing these works in person they are very dynamic.

  • Preview: “World on Fire” Grammy Art Show

In honor of the Grammy’s, Feb 2nd through the 8th, Shooting Gallery along with Kris Lewis and help from Will.I.Am bring a group show entitled “World on Fire”. The show features portraits of big name music stars painted by 20-25 of some of the best artists in the “Lowbrow” scene. The works and prints that re sold at the show will help to benefit the Pea Pod Foundation. A few sites have talked about this show, and Arrested Motion just posted a preview of some of the works that will be on view, and from what I have seen so far this show is going to not only help out a great foundation but bring the fans some killer artwork.

The show will feature portraits from: Lori Earley (Madonna), Paul Chatem (Rick Rubin), Kris Lewis (Beck), Travis Louie (Trent Reznor, NIN), Shawn Barber (Angus Young, AC/DC), Natalia Fabia (Pink), and it is also said we will see Jeremy Lipking painting Snoop Dogg, Ron English (Metallica), Van Arno (BB King), Shepard Fairey (Paul McCartney) and many more.

  • Art of the Day: “The Little Voice” by Saturne

Todays art is from Saturne, an artist out of Paris France. She works in both digital and traditional arts, and recently posted a new oil painting she has finished. The painting is entitled “The Little Voice”, it is oil on wood and roughly 20″ x 27″.

I really love the colors she used and the stylized way she draws figures. The hands and poses of both figures are great, kind of winding a bit through the work instead of being static like a normal portrait. If you like this piece head on over to her homepage, she has allsorts of amazing art and shop if you would like to buy prints or originals.

  • “The Real Batman” print by Alex Pardee

At the Alternative Press Expo just this last year, Alex Pardee had some small prints for sale of “The Real Batman”. The prints sold out pretty fast. It looks like Zerofriends.com has added a larger version of the print. This new print is 17″ x 22″ Printed with Archival Inks on Acid Free Velvet Cotton Rag, signed and numbered in an edition of 200.

I have the smaller one and it looks amazing, there is no doubt this larger one looks just as good if not better.

  • “Death of Bella” new work and process by Apricot Mantle

The artist known as Apricot Mantle has just finished a new piece that he was working on. He also created a process page so you can see the whole journey it took to make this new drawing. This new drawing is 18″ x 24″ prismacolor on board and was made to commemorate the loss of a friends bike.

It’s a great looking piece, much like the Lady Enmity piece of his I showed a while back, this one looks like its glowing. He really knows how to use those prismacolors.
Head on over to check out his gallery as well as the newly update process page.

  • “Calaverose” original painting by Johnny “Crap” Bergeron

Jonathan Bergeron, otherwise known as “Johnny Crap” has an original painting for sale over on the Gigposters.com classifieds. It’s a killer little painting so I thought I would share it. The painting is oil on wood 8″ x 8″. The painting is signed by the artist in the right hand corner. The streaks you see is the varnish a cameras amazing ability to bring it out in any painting.

I really like the idea of small paintings. While it’s great to have huge paintings, smaller works can really help fill in areas of your walls and cram as much art as you can into your house.
