Disturbia Clothing just sent over news of a killer new print they released. Based on “The Shining”, this print by Michele Boscagli entitled “Redrum” is an 18″ x 24″ screenprint, signed and numbered in an edition of 50 for £17 ($27). This is definitely one of the most exciting prints I have seen made from this Kubrick classic.

Every day until her solo show at the FB69 Gallery in Germany, Ana Bagayan has been creating one new drawing that will be featured in the show. So far the drawings are all graphite portraits, some on the cream colored paper she often uses, and some on plain white paper. There is already some amazing work, a few of which are pretty dark and were perfect to show here for the Halloween month. Even though she is working hard on these drawings and who know how many other projects, Ana still finds time to add some originals to her Etsy shop. Three tiny skull drawings, each one graphite and charcoal on cotton paper are currently for sale. Make sure you check out Ana’s blog to follow her progress.
Tanya Pshenychny has been working hard on a whole new batch of work since the last time she was featured on the site. Currently she is part of a two person show at the Galesburg Civic Art Center in Galesburg, IL. The show will be up until November 12th, but if you can’t make it to the show Tanya has added all of the work to her website. Out of the 35 pieces in the exhibition, 15 of them are new such as “Panic Attacked”, “Killed with Kindness”, and “Deerly Be-Livid” all shown below. Porterhouse Fine Art Editions is releasing a new print by Mark Ryden this Thursday, October 21st at 8am Pacific. “The Tree of Life” painting will be in “The Artist’s Museum, Los Angeles Artists 1980-2010” group show that is taking place at the Museum of Contemporary Art. In commemoration of this event, a limited edition lithograph of “The Tree of Life” is being released. The print is 38.5″ x 26″ on heavyweight paper, embossed with Porterhouse seal, signed and numbered in an edition of 500, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The print is being sold for $500 each, and even though thats a pretty hefty price for a lithograph print, I know this print will sell out in record time.

For just one night only, October 19th, the Hyaena Gallery hosted “The Psycho Legacy Art Exhibit”. In celebration of the dvd release of Psycho Legacy, there was a signing at Dark Delicacies with many of the people that worked on the movies, and then the party moved over to the Hyaena Gallery for some Psycho inspired art. Jeremy Cross, Clint Carney, Chuck Hodi, Char Hall, and Strephon Taylor were just a few of the names that participated in this one night event. There is some great work in the show, but for me the standout piece is “The House that Death Built” by Char Hall (below). Great layout, beautifully executed, and is one of those paintings that would make an art lover happy that never even saw the movies.

Featured just under a week ago, the Horrorwood group show at the WWA Gallery opened up. Apricot Mantle had some work in the show, and once again I was able to have him review the show and share some photos of the reception.
Nothing beats Halloween…Unless it’s a Halloween spirit embodying art show called HORRORWOOD! The WWA Gallery in Los Angeles really put on a good show this month with 55 artists from all over the place giving their artistic takes on classic Hollywood horror. The Blob, The Wolfman, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Birds, Dracula, Rosemary’s Baby, and Metropolis were some of the choices made by the artists in the show. The variety of styles and techniques was wonderful and inspiring to anyone to walk into the place.

Jonathan Levine Gallery has just released a new print for pre-order by Jeff Soto. “The Seeker” was first seen in Soto’s solo exhibition “Lifecycle”, that took place at the gallery this past summer. The print is and offset lithograph, 23.5″ x 36″ on 80# Patina Matte paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 450 for $75 each.
