  • “Linearity” group show @ Mint Gallery

    One June 9th, the Mint Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia, opened Linearity, a group show featuring 25 artists working in a variety of mediums all on paper. The show was curated by artist Kelly McKernan, and is now on available to view on the web. There is some great work in this show, a few pieces were very surprising such as Nobody Lives Forever by Megan Frauenhoffer (shown first). This mixed-drawing has the same figurative style Megan is known for, but its a new style overall and looks amazing.   • Prints: “Blue Skull” by Jeff Proctor @ Von Scaramouche

    Von Scaramouche has just released a new print by Jeff Proctor. Entitled Blue Skull, this print is 18″ x 24″ on Moab Entrada Bright White Rag paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 70. Each print also comes with a certificate of authenticity. This print comes from a painting Jeff featured in his solo show at Breeze Block Gallery in Portland, OR. The goal was to bring “beauty into his typically gory art”.

  • Three Shows of Somber Beauty at Nucleus Gallery

    Get thee down to Nucleus Gallery for a triple exhibition. There are two solo shows, Stasis and Larvae, from Cam de Leon and Jeremy Enecio respectively. Both of these exhibitions look mind blowing. Both artists mesmerize with their story-telling and painting skills. They are almost visionary in their styles, yet grotesque and surreal overall.

    On top of that is a group show entitled Hollow Thoughts: A Skull Show that includes work by Allen Williams, Annita Maslov, Bradley Jay, Charlie Immer, Chris B. Murray, Joshua Harker, Meyoko, Noah Scalin, Patrick Awa, Peter Vattanatham & Fiel Valdez, Scott Scheidly and Travis Louie. It’s so difficult these days to paint or create a skull without being trite…might as well go all out. I’ll never get tired of them. The works in this show are quite impressive.

    From all three shows, there are quite a few limited edition prints for sale that you can purchase via Nucleus’s website if you’re nowhere near Los Angeles.

  • Prints: “The Truth” by Meggs @ 1xrun

    1xrun has just dropped a new print by Australian artist Meggs. Entitled The Truth, this print is 12″ x 12″ on Archival Pigment Print on 330gsm Fine Art Paper, signed and numbered in a max edition of 50, and also comes with a certificate of authenticity.

  • Prints: “Signals” by Aaron Nagel @ 1xrun

    1xrun has just dropped a new print by Aaron Nagel entitled Signals. This is the second print by Aaron for 1xrun, the first one sold out very quickly. This new print is also a bit larger than the previous print, coming in at 18″ x 24″ 310gsm Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper. The prints are signed and numbered, this one in a max edition of 65, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

    “Time Machine” series by Allison Torneros

    Allison Torneros has just re-launched her online shop, and to help get it back in full gear she is having a sale of original paintings. The new series is entitled Time Machine, and features 30, 9″ x9″ mixed media paintings for only $80 each. They are going pretty fast, however I still wanted to share them here. Each painting is acrylic, spray paint, and graphite on paper and has that amazing feel Allison’s large scale works have. I love that idea that each piece looks completely random, as if she started laying down paint and allowed it to guide the entire process.

  • Prints: “Drain” by Martin Wittfooth @ Virtu Art Gallery

    Virtu Art Gallery has just released a new limited edition print by Martin Wittfooth entitled Drain. This new print is 10″ x 10″ on a sheet of 12″ x 12″ Hahnemuhle Bamboo Paper. Each print is signed and numbered in an edition of 100, and come with a certificate of authenticity.

  • Prints: “Memento Mori” by COOP and Pressure Printing

    Pressure Printing has just released a new print, and their largest print to date. The print that previously held the title was COOP’s 1949 Mercury, and the one to beat it is COOP’s new Memento Mori relief print. The print is 42″ x 30″ on Arches 88 paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 25 + 5 PP’s, 5 Ap’s, and 1 Bon á tirer. The print also comes with a certificate of authenticity wich is custom designed, embossed, and also signed by the artist.
