  • “Manfungus 1.3” print by Christian Rex van Minnen

Gallery Nucleus has added some new prints to their online shop, one of which is “Manfungus 1.3” by Christian Rex van Minnen. I was first taken in with van Minnen’s work due to the similarity to 16th century painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo, although I find the formers work more interesting. The print is a giclee on velvet fine art paper, 18″ x 24″, signed and numbered in an edition of 25.

  • “Grandma Cyclops” print by Mark Mothersbaugh @ Pressure Printing

Back in November 2007, Pressure Printing released “Grandpa Cyclops” with Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh. Now they have officially released the companion piece, “Grandma Cyclops”. Looking back at the original production notes, this print was made in the same fashion and even put into the same frame. Grandma is a 4.75” x 3.375” hand printed intaglio print on Rives Heavyweight printmaking paper. Each print is individually stained with gouache and ink, signed by the artist and placed in a custom resin frame with convex glass. Each print also comes with an embossed and perforated Certificate of Authenticity also signed by the artist. This print is limited to an edition of 50. • “Girls, Girls, Girls” print and show @ Phone Booth Gallery

This past Saturday at the Phone Booth Gallery, the “Girls, Girls, Girls” group exhibition opened up. Artwork by Bree Dentice, Camilla Taylor, Elisa Tanaka, Jennie Cotterill, Nancy Chiu and many more is now up in the site. A print has also been released based on one the paintings by Jennie Cotterill, aptly entitled “Girls, Girls, Girls”. Jennie had three paintings in the show, all acrylic on floating wood panel. I am now hooked on Jennie’s style of painting. Very brushy, amazing colors, and has a great way of rendered those figures. The print is 11″ x 17″, giclee on 300 gsm Archival Museo Cotton Rag paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 50.

  • “Belladonna” print by Lori Earley

The original edition of “Belladonna” by Lori Earley was put on hold due to printers being switched up. The edition is once again for pre-order and will be shipped out this coming June. The print is 24″ x 30″ giclee on canvas, signed and numbered in an edition of 200. This is a beautiful image, and quite darker in tone that the last few prints Lori has released.

  • “Debbie Harry” print by Shepard Fairey

This Friday, May 7th at a random time, Shepard Fairey will be releasing a new print entitled “Debbie Harry”. This canvas screen print is from a photo originally taken by Bobby Grossman. The print is 18″ x 24″, signed and numbered in an edition of 450 for $70 each. I haven’t been too interested in the last few prints that Shepard has released, but I think that this is one is well worth the look.
