    Ladies of the Newbrow by Patrushka

    Simply known as Patrushka, this San Francisco based artist grew up in Southern California and was inspired by children’s books, album covers, comics and tv. Later the inspirations moved to MC Escher, R. Crumb, Dali, and the current lowbrow/pop surrealist scene. The artist has a few ongoing series of works on her portfolio, one entitled “Ladies of the Lowbrow”. Working with oil on wood, she has created portraits of Camille Rose Garcia, Isabel Samaras, Femke Hiemstra, Jessica Joslin, Jennybird Alcantra, and you can even see Gwen Stefani and Kat Von D.

  • New prints by Kevin Llewellyn

    Kevin Llewellyn has just opened an online store and filled it with not only prints, but a postcard set, and catalogue from his solo show “The Unsaid” that took place at Kat Von D’s Wonderland Gallery. The postcard set features 8, 5″ x 7″ postcards for $13. The Catalogue is 12″ x 9″, softcover and 48 pages for $25 each. There is also four new prints, that surprisingly have not sold out yet.   • Kevin Llewellyn’s “The Unsaid” @ Wonderland Gallery

    This past September 2nd at the Wonderland Gallery (started by Kat Von D) Kevin Llewellyn had his latest, long awaited solo exhibition entitled “The Unsaid”. Kevin has an amazing style, and I would often visit his website in hopes that something new would pop up. This new show features 20+ works, a few of them are older pieces, but each one of them is outstanding. This is really one of those shows that I wish I was able to see in person. It’s been almost a month now, and aside from the random photos that have shown up on Flickr, or Twitter, the show has now been put up on the galleries website. The baroque style frames he uses look perfect, and quite a few times the dominant color in the painting finds it way onto the frame itself.
