Artist of the Day: Candice Tripp

I’m going to change the “Art of the Day” portion of the site to “Artist of the Day”. The change comes with the fact that I will now be showing a few images from the artist, as opposed to one.

So, with that I would like to share the work of Candice Tripp. She is an artist based out of Newcastle, it appears that she mainly uses ink and oils to create her work. I love how here work is placed on these open backgrounds, your eye goes right the central figure(s), kind of like what you would see with Marion Bolegnesi or even some of the works by Fuco Ueda. It’s nice to be able to see some work like this, that isn’t filled with color from every corner of the canvas. The first piece shown, “Franny” is amazing. The colors, the skull features and the the staining is right up my alley. I’m also a big fan of the last piece, and the “Robot Monster” like helmut she is wearing.

If you take a look at her website, she has news of upcoming shows and even an area for fine art prints of her work. Candice Tripp Homepage
