  • Art of the Day: “Onawa” by Michael Shapcott

Michael Shapcott is in the process of making a new website, and in the meantime has been making some very exciting paintings. The latest paintings have been smaller than most of his work has, and has this perfect blend of materials and textures. One of the latest paintings is “Onawa”, which is the first of a new series and is 8.5″ x 11″ Graphite, Acrylic, and Oil on Illustration Board. I really like this new direction Michael is going and look forward to more works. “Onawa” is available for sale over at Michael’s Etsy Shop, and he even made a new painting video that shows how “Onawa” was made. • Artist Profiles: Doug Gordon

Doug Gordon is a Seattle based artist. He works in both digital as well as airbrushed paintings. His work is very colorful and surreal. His website shows some closeups of the paintings, showing how much control Doug has with the airbrush. I would love to see these paintings in person, they trul deserve to be seen up close.

  • “Forget About It” original by Mr. Frivolous

The artist known as Mr. Frivolous has added an original drawing to his etsy shop. “Forget About It” is felt tip pen on paper, and is framed. The listing does not have the size shown, but I imagine for the price I am going to guess it to be around 8″ x 10″, don’t quote me on that though. If anyone knows any different, let me know.
It’s a great looking piece, some energetic marks and the colors are nice as well.
