This is just a fun print that I thought I would share. The Adult Swim shop has some pretty cool art prints for sale, but pretty much every time I make it over there the prints are sold out (like the Dethklok print I missed out on). So here is a new one that is still available. It’s a print for 3d Season of the Venture Bros. with the artwork done by Eisner Award Winning artist Bill Sienkiewicz. You can see that the print does a good job of looking like the box art for old video games as well. The print is 12″ x 13″ on uncoated 100# stock for $24. It doesn’t say that the print is limited, but you never know. And yes, it’s orange. A very bright orange. Not sure how long I could handle that.

Preview: Group Show @ Flatcolor Gallery
Opening up this Thursday, July 2nd at the Flatcolor Gallery in Seattle is a group show featuring work by Timothy Karpinski, Matthew Ryan Sharp, Jeremy Ehling, Sohaila Adela, BASO, CHIP7 and Julian Duron. The preview for the show is now online and looks great. The work is very affordable as well. Not all of the work from the show is in the preview, but I am loving the paintings by Chip7 and Matthew Ryan Sharp, especially the Baseball Furie drawing (shown). It’s also only $75, someone needs to get that one. If your in the area make sure to stop by the gallery, or check back with the site tomorrow and see if the full show is online.

“We’re on our way home” gocco print by Tessar Lo
Tessar Lo has just released a very unique print, a gocco on wood print that is limited to an edition of 10 for $150. The print is all hand done, as the process of gooco prints is very hands on, it’s a four color print on what looks like wood paper, and then embellishments added with white gesso. The print is 4″ x 6″, and is printed on the back with info and signed/numbered by Tessar. Due the process involved in these print, each one will be different from the others.
This is nice to see, while I love prints something more unique like this is very welcomeThere is only 10 so head on over before they’re gone. Tessar Lo Gocco Print

RIP Michael Jackson
At age 50 the man known as the King of Pop passed away this June 25th in Los Angeles. It was just hours earlier that Farrah Fawcett passed and Ed Mcmahon the day prior. An 8 year old Creep could be found running around the house with a little sparkly glove on (and matching socks) waiting for MTV to play Thriller again. Not only was the song amazing, but was one of the main reasons I am so hooked on zombies and wanted to be a special effects artist. That whole album was amazing, and pretty much everyone had a copy whether they admit it or not. Even Weird Al’s “Beat It” spoof was great, simply because it came off more like a tribute than many of his other spoofs. The latter part of Michael’s life was riddled with controversy, trials, surgeries and and endless supply of rumors.
But this site is not about all of that, its about art. So here are a few paintings that celebrate the contributions of a musician that was undeniably talented, was the template of many musicians to follow and is still responsible for rhythmless people everywhere to try and moonwalk, but still have fun dancing to songs that will never get old.

Artist of the Day: Laura Bifano
Laura Bifano is an artist out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I went on an art hunting spree and was happy to find her artwork in the first 20 minutes or so. She has an absolutely amazing style, full of color and textures as seen in the first painting “Young Bride”. There are elements that have a similar feel to some of the techniques you can see in works by James Jean, Tran Nguyen and Joao Ruas but of course Lauara has her on unique voice here. I like that he paintings also have humor to them, it’s an emotion that many artists seem to overlook.
I am going to try to find out some more information about this artist, but in the meantime make your way to her blog and take a look at the rest of her artworks.
