Coming this Saturday June 20th to Sloan Fine Art in New York is a solo show featuring new works by Jonathan Viner. The show is entitled “Harem” and is all 12″ x 12″ oil and panel portraits of girls lost in the music they are listening to, all through headphones. Two of these paintings, “Katenka†and “Yelena†are available as prints from his online store as posted earlier. The paintings look amazing, the colors are all very similar and minimal but have this dreamy quality to each one. The reception starts at 4pm, so if your are able to go the show make sure you get there early.

“Fall of the Forest King” print by Julian Callos
Julian Callos is an illustrator out of Los Angeles. He just graduated from Otis, and now has a print available from A Paper Tiger. Being noticed so quickly out of college, it’s not going to long before we see his work in galleries all over the place. The print is 8″ x 8″, signed and numbered in an edition of 10. Here is what the artists says about the print:
“This piece reflects the age-old conflict between man and nature. The Forest King represents the spirit of the forest. He has been felled by human weaponry, signifying the conquest and inevitable destruction of nature by man.” -
“Pope Innocent XXX” print by Michael Hussar
Birdbath Publishing has released a new print by Michael Hussar. The print is “Pope Innocent XXX”, based off of a 10″ x 15″ oil on wood painting from 2006. The print is a giclee on archival paper, 13″ x 18″, titled, signed and numbered in an edition of 88. The print also comes with a certificate of authenticity for $350. Like all of the prints that Birdbath releases, this one is sure to look amazing. This is a great image, I don’t imagine this one will last long at all.
