  • Project 57 auction now at Distinction Gallery

    The reception for the Project 57 show, a benefit for Charles Leslie Walker will be on August 9th from 6-11pm. All of the works in the show are 5″ x 7″, and the artists can donate a portion or all of the proceeds to the LBD Association.

    The auction is now underway and will end the night of the reception. There are some really killer works in the show, some of which might even go for a pretty cheap price. Some of the artists in the show are Audrey Kawasaki, Michael Page, Chris Ryniak, Ekundayo, Ahren Hertel, Michael Brown, Richard Salcido and many others.

  • Erik Jones’ redesigned website launched

    Erik Jones has just relaunched his website with a new design. The new layout still holds the same basic idea as his older layout, but is much easier to move around in, and has some very cool additions to it.

    The information areas of the site (about, news, contact, etc) are now in an easy to access tabbed area. Links to his other profiles are placed right in the footer so you don’t need to go hunting for them. His gallery still has the same horizontal layout, but this time the gallery is in flash. I am usually opposed to flash, but there are exceptions and this is one of them. The images are large and quite easy to see. It also doesn’t hurt that the loading/progress bar is a sketch by Erik, so it’s pretty cool to see the sketch being “drawn” while you wait.

    Hover over the images and you can click the info tab which will give you all you need to know about the piece, a shop (open soon) to buy a print of the work and a detail option. The detail part is very cool, you can basically get a super close view of the works, and you can click and drag the work around to see it all. Best thing next to really being in front of the work.

  • Ashley Wood’s “Les Mort 13” figure pre-order

    Ashley Wood’s latest figure is now ready for pre-order over on his site. The figure is 12″ tall and is yours for the price of $130, which also ships to you no matter where you are in the world, free.

  • “From the Well”, original by Chris Mars

    I noticed that DVA Gallery has updated the store area of their website. It looks great now, and very easy to move around. You can now just choose a category such as prints, available artwork, books/magazines and so on.

    One of the things in the store that really caught my eye was this original oil painting by Chris Mars. “From the Well” is oil on board, 10.5”x 12.5”. There is always so much to look at in his paintings. The colors and textures in his work is amazing. I have been able to see his work in person once, and I can surely tell you that images on the net do not show how great his work really is.

  • Print Contest! Enter to win a Lori Earley giclee print

    You may have noticed the featured artist banner to the right has been replaced by a banner showing that the Creep Machine is having a print contest. Up for grabs is a limited edition print of “Annabelle” by Lori Earley.

  • “Shamanic Tendencies”, new print by Chet Zar

    Chet Zar has a new print up in his shop, two new ones really, the most recent is “Shamanic Tendencies”.
    The print is 13″ x 17″ on Velvet Fine Art Paper and is limited to only 35. Each print is signed and numbered.

  • Joshua Taylor’s Summer ink and pen sale!

    This Summer is a coming out to be a great time to score some artwork. Joshua Taylor is having a “Super Summer Pen and Ink Sale”, so it’s a good opportunity to snag some original work from this very killer artist.

    He will be selling a huge amount of pen and ink drawings, all of which seem to be on 5″ x 7″ watercolor paper. Each piece is only $50, so for a very affordable price you can have an original Joshua Taylor work, and frame it to add some life to walls of your home.
