Allison Torneros just added a time lapse video showing the painting process she uses. In this video you can see her painting “The Unraveling”. I was always curious as to how she gets those amazing textures, and this video gives a good idea of how she does it.

So a little bit late on this one, but the Featured Artist for August is now ready. Continuing the past few features of an interview and gallery, Jason Edmiston was kind of enough to answer some questions, and share some art. I would like to thank last month’s double feature artist, Joe Scarano. So head on over and check out the featured artists are for his work, and of course his interview in the archives.
Nimit Malavia has just opened an online shop and can be found on his homepage. This new shop is filled with 8 prints, most of which are on Hahnemuhle fine art rag paper, and limited to editions of 50. The store will soon feature, limited editions prints, screen prints, original artwork and much more.

Allison Torneros (featured) has just launched her newly designed website, and has filled the store with some new prints. The new website is clean, and very easy to maneuver around in. There are three new prints in the shop, “Lotus Blossom” which is 11″ x 14″ on fine art paper, “Reflecting on Peculiar Events” at 16″ x 22″, and finally “Nema Enters Slumberland” at 9″ x 24″.

After hearing the news of Ryan August passing this last Saturday, Drew Millward stayed up all night an created an original painting to be auctioned off. The money will go to help Ryan’s family. It’s an amazing looking painting, and goes toward a great cause. The painting is 16.5″ × 23.4″ with a mix of brush pens and paint. The bidding has started over at Gigposters.com and will go till around Monday or Tuesday.

Michael Shapcott has been super busy lately, and with this poor economy thats a good thing. He found some time to show some of the latest drawings he has created over on his new snazzy website. Michael’s pencil work has always been a part of his paintings, but being able to see just drawings with no added color is very cool. He is deciding on whether or not to turn these into paintings, I hope he does.

Joshua Clay has said he was always anti-digital, and has stuck to using traditional mediums for his work. He recently entered a contest to make a propaganda poster for the new Starcraft 2 game, and turned his pencil sketch into a digital piece. If this truly is his first digital work, I can’t wait to see what it will look like when he really gets into the medium. Glenn Barr will have a solo show entitled “Small Epic” at Roq La Rue this Friday, July 9th. Along with this new series of works, Glenn has also redesigned his homepage. His previous site was flash based, and while it looked snazzy it was not as clean and easy to use as this new design. The graphics of the page look as though they were plucked right out of Glenn’s sketchbook, and the store now gives you the ability to zoom in on the prints and see all the details. Head on over and check out Glenn’s new website, and keep your eye open for the gallery post his new works.
