    Chet Zar’s “The Demon Show” and Jasmine Worth’s “Dark Night of the Soul” at Last Rites

    Opening this Saturday, May 23rd, Chet Zar’s The Demon Show and Jasmine Worth’s Dark Night of the Soul will open at Last Rites Gallery in New York. The gallery, founded by legendary tattoo/fine artist Paul Booth, is one of the finest galleries dedicated to dark and obscure art in a variety of mediums and genres. As with all of the amazing shows they host , this dual solo exhibition is one not to miss. The exhibition will run from April 24 through July 3rd, 2015 at 325 West 38th Street. An opening reception for the artist will be held on will be held on Saturday, April 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. If you’re in the area, make sure to stop by and see these works in person.     “I Like to Paint Monsters” Documentary on Chet Zar

    Mike Correll currently has a Kickstarter campaign going in order to raise the funds needed to make his documentary on artist Chet Zar. Entitled “I Like to Paint Monsters”, this introspective look into the life and art of this inspiring artist, will give fans a closer idea of what drives him to create the work he does, and what it took to get there. The campaign is doing very well, and has around 21 days to go, with a closing date of October 12, 2012. Take a look at the video, and then head on over to the page to see how you can help.

  • Preview: “Le Petite Mort” by Chet Zar @ Stranger Factory Gallery

    Opening this Friday, June 1st, at the Stranger Factory Gallery in Albuquerque is three solo shows, the first of which is from Chet Zar. This new series of works is entitled Le Petite Mort and features 11, 5″ x 7″ oil paintings, each with a hand-cast resin frame. While these works are smaller, they show how a skilled painter and craftsman such as Chet Zar can make art of any size incredibly intense, detail rich, and most importantly continue to show why Chet is one of the best dark artists working today.
