Josh Keyes “Collision” @ David B Smith Gallery
Opening tonight, November 5th at the David B Smith Gallery is the latest solo show of Josh Keyes. Entitled “Collision”, this new series of works as stated by Josh is inspired by “old alchemists engraving from around the 16th century. The engraving consists of multiple images that illustrate a personified narrative of the chemical transformation of metals moving from one solid to disintegration and reconfiguration. The iconographic device used in this engraving is that of the archetypal king whose power shifts between tyranny and freedom.” There will also be a new limited edition print released, based on the painting “Sowers” (seen last). The print will be 16″ x 48″, signed and numbered in an edition of 350. The show is now online to view, so if you are not able to be there in person make sure you check out the site.
