  • Halloween 2010 Feature

    Halloween is upon us again, one of my favorite times of the year. Not only is it filled with great memories of being a kid, eating too much candy and watching horror movies late into the night, but this season is when some of the creepiest art is made. This is the second year I have posted a Halloween feature, and hopefully this one is even better.   • New prints by Naoto Hattori

    Naoto Hattori has just added some new prints to his online shop. It was just last month that he added new prints, and looks to be on a schedule with new releases. The store itself is pretty well stocked with prints, so if any of the new one don’t grab you, there is bound to be one that does.   • New prints by Naoto Hattori

    Naoto Hattori has just added some new prints to his online shop. These new prints are giclee on fine at paper, and most are limited to editions of 50. Most of these prints are based on paintings that have been featured in the past few shows he has collaborated in. If you subscribe to his newsletter, you can also be notified of all print releases, and previews of any original art that is for sale.

  • Preview: “Hi-Fructose Collected 2” Box Set

    Preview: “Hi-Fructose Collected 2” Box Set

    Hi Fructose have just released the news about the second installment in the “Hi Fructose Collected” box sets. This 300+page hardcover book will feature the best work from issues 5-8. There is a special intro by Long Gone John, interviews and more. The deluxe version of the set will include “A Special 2’x2′ Fold-Out Poster by Jason Freeny, Specially Designed Sticker Pages from Travis Lampe, Gary Baseman, & Ferris Plock. 5 Special Edition Prints from: Travis Louie, Audrey Kawasaki, Edwin Ushiro, Mars-1 and Yoko d’Holbachie packaged in a beautiful print portfolio with vellum artist and title pages between each print.” All this will be placed into a ribbon tied hard case.
    The set will be available on June 1st, so don’t wait the last one sold out pretty fast.

  • “Curiouser and Curiouser: Inspired by Alice in Wonderland” @ Gallery Nucleus

    This past weekend, February 27th at the Gallery Nucleus, the group show “Curiouser and Curiouser: Inspired by Alice in Wonderland” opened up. The show has never before seen concept art for the upcoming movie, maquettes for the new movie were also on display (courtesy of Gentle Giant Studios), and 40+ artists showcasing work inspired by this classic story. A few the artists in the show include: Alberto Cerriteño, Allison Reimold, Amy Sol, David Ho, Kukula, Marguerite Sauvage, Naoto Hattori, Jason Seiler, Bobby Chiu, William Stout and more.

  • Preview: IO Saturnalia & Chris Peters @ Corpo Nason

    Copro Nason Gallery will be opening three exhibits this Saturday, December 12. “IO Saturnalia” a group show featuring work by Yoko d’Holdbachie, Naoto Hattori, Rachel Bess, Mari Inukai, Mark Covell, Erik Alos, Alex Garcia, Michael Page, Leslie Ditto, XNO, Kieth Weesner and more. Then in gallery 2 will be “Gold Dust” by Tiffany Liu and gallery 3 will have “Reflections” with new works from Chris Peters.   • “Wood Nymph” print by Naoto Hattori

    Naoto Hattori has just added a new print to his online shop. “Wood Nymph” is 15″ x 16″ on fine art paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 50 for $150. It’s one of the more busy prints that he has released in a while now. There is a lot of detail and information going on here. Not quite my thing, but I still love his work.

  • “Small Stuff 3” cash and carry exhibition @ Bear and Bird Gallery

    The “Small Stuff 3” show opened at the Bear and Bird Boutique and Gallery last November 22nd, the show will run up until January 9, 2010. The feature of this show is that all of the work is cash and carry, so you buy it and then walk out with it. If your buying the work online it immediately gets shipped to you. Great idea and perfect for those still shopping for gifts, or happily being a Scrooge and just buying stuff for yourself. The show features work by Ana Galvan, Danielle Estefan, Danny Brito, Dékal, Erik Jones, Naoto Hattori, Phil Noto, Shannon Bonatakis, Skot Olsen, Bill Carman and many more. The majority of the art is small, so you won’t find too many outrageous prices save for the Naoto Hattori. He commonly makes smaller works and the detail levels are skill is well worth the price.
