  • Preview/Interview: Ego – “Light In The Darkness” @ Flatcolor Gallery

Opening this Thursday, October 1st at the Flatcolor Gallery in Seattle is “Light in the Darkness”; a solo exhibition of new works from the multi-talented artist known as EGO. For the past few months EGO has been creating work for a variety of shows and events, such as “LET THERE BE ART!” .. a project to give a collective voice to the Seattle artists whose talent is all too often unseen and unheard.” presented by City Hostel Seattle. I am very excited to see the new works he has created for this show, but in the meantime I was able to send over a handful of interview questions and even some teaser images.

  • Art of the Day: “Sic Transit Gloria Mundi” by EGO

Seattle based artist EGO was one of the featured artists here on the Creep Machine, and also had painting on show for the “Attack of the B Movie Show” and the current “This is the End” show. Not only is he an amazing tattoo artist, but also a skilled painter with a very unique style and imagination. I am always happy to see new work from him, and very privileged to have his art in any show that I am able to curate.

The piece shown here is the painting that EGO submitted to the “This is the End” group show. It looks so amazing in person, I wish the pictures were good enough to show how dynamic it really is. Surprisingly the piece is still available, but I have a feeling that his work will get harder to come by with every passing show.

  • “Little Miss Sunshine” print by EGO

Previously featured here on the Creep Machine, and one of the artists that was in not only the B Movie show but also the latest “This is the End” show, Seattle based artist EGO has just been added to the roster at Flatcolor.com His first print for the site is from his painting “Little Miss Sunshine”. The print is 7″ x 9″ on a piece of 8″ x 10″ Hahnemuhle William Turner Fine Art Paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 25.

This is a great first print from EGO and I look forward to seeing what new prints they bring us, not only from EGO but also the other artist they feature such as Parskid, Timothy Karpinski, Chip7 and Sohaila Adela.
