  • “In The Trees: TWIN PEAKS 20th Anniversary Art Exhibition”

    Opening tonight, February 12th, in Los Angeles at Clifton’s Brookdale is a group show dedicated to David Lynch’s cult television series “Twin Peaks”. The show will feature work by Glenn Barr, Tim Biskup, Scott Campbell, Paul Chatem, Ryan Heshka, Stella Im Hultberg, Ashley Wood, Jessica Joslin, Chris Mars, Liz McGrath, Eric White, and more. Clifton’s Brookdale is a very unique restaurant, however the artwork for the show has been placed online so those of us that aren’t able to make it to the show, and grab some food, will be able to check of some of this outstanding work. I really like what Stella Im Hultberg came up with, the contrast and colors are perfect.

    “Faces” book by Glenn Barr

    Coming this Spring from Last Gasp and La Luz de Jesus is a new hardcover book featuring the work of Glenn Barr. This new book is entitled “Faces” and as you can imagine is all about portrait work/figurative work. Here are a couple preview shot of what will be in the book. Once the book is ready to purchase we’ll have the new here, and hopefully if there us any signings planned.

  • Dark Pop 3.0 @ Last Rites Gallery

    Last Saturday, January 15th, the Last Rites Gallery in New York opened the 3rd installment of the Dark Pop exhibitions. The artists in these shows focus their work towards the darker side of art, so fans are able to see artists that rarely make dark art create something truly unique. This year the participating artists include Buff Monster, Esao Andrews, Scott Musgrove, Mark Dean Veca, Daniel Hyun Lim, Glenn Barr, the Pizz, Brian Despain, Mr Christopher, Beau Stanton, Molly Crabapple, Michael Page, Mark Elliot, Mark Garro, Gaia, Nouar, Amy Crehore and more. One of the most surprising things about this show is new art from Mr Christopher (featured), who long time readers may remember as a monthly featured artist here on the Creep as well as submitting an amazing painting to the Attack of the B Movie show I curated years ago. I am very happy to see that Mr. Christopher is creating art again. Nouar once again creates a fun, creepy painting. Who else could show a woman biting the head off a chicken, and make it look amazing.

  • New prints by Glenn Barr

    Glenn Barr has added some new prints to his online shop. One of the new prints comes from the painting Glenn contributed to the Playboy Redux exhibition. I’m glad that the Playboy piece has been turned into a giclee print, it’s an amazing image. ‘Summer’ is also a greta looking print, and very affordable. Glenn Barr Online Shop

  • Preview: Playboy Redux II @ Copro Nason

    Opening this Saturday, December 18th at Copro Nason is the second showing of the Playboy Redux Group Exhibition. The first showing was at Rotofugi Gallery, and from the looks of it there is a few new artists added to the show this time around. This second showing will feature work by Bob Doucette, Glenn Barr, Isabel Samaras, Frank Kozik, Tara McPherson, Brian Viveros, Scott Anderson, TIN, Vincent Cacciotti, Luke Chueh, Dan Quintana, Keith Weesner, William Wray, Gary Baseman, Leslie Ditto, Lisa Petrucci, Lang Leav, Brian Ewing, Andrew Schoultz, Shaunna Peterson, Jennybird Alcantra, Ken Keirns, Ain Cocke, Jeremiah Ketner, Travis Lampe, Anthony Ausgang, R. Black, Jeremy Tinder, Erik Alos, Bonni Reid, Mark Bodnar, Nouar, Shag, and more. I like Bob Doucette’s painting, with inspiration taken from “Venus Anadyomène” by Ingres.   • “Subtleties of Character” @ WWA Gallery

    Omn Thursday, December 10th, a group show curated by Dan Barry entitled “Subtleties of Character” opened at the WWA Gallery. This group show features artwork by Glenn Barr, Ana Bagayan, Matt Dangler, Richard J Frost, Jeremiah Ketner, Luis Lorenzana, Mia Makila, Buddy Nestor, Kevin Peterson, Saratoga Sake, Nouar, Jittagarn Kaewtinkoy, and many more. There is some really great work in this show, I was happy to see some drawings by Buddy Nestor. His drawing style is just as captivating as his paintings, I hope he releases some more drawings soon as these ones sold out very fast. I also really liked Glenn Barr’s “Idyll Worship”, and it just so happens that Glenn has a print of the study over at his shop (here).

  • “Without Pity” print by Glenn Barr

    1xRun.com, a new site that does time limited print editions, currently have a new print by Glenn Barr. “Without Pity” is 13 3/8″ x 16 3/8″ on archival cotton paper, signed and numbered in an edition no larger than 35. The way the site works is if only 10 prints are sold in the time the print is available, thats the edition size. I’ve always been a huge fan of Glenn’s work, and have been waiting for one of his Robot Monster inspired works to make it into print form. There is only 5 days left, or 15 prints to go.

  • New prints by Glenn Barr

    Glenn Barr has added four new limited edition prints to his online shop, “Prehistoric Blues”, “BOA”, “Oceanah”, and “Spark”. Each print is 9″ x 12″ on 80lb cover stock, signed and numbered in an edition of 50 for $40 each. I’m glad that Glenn is starting to make smaller, limited edition prints.
