The Kelvingrove Museum of Glasgow had an installation up by artist Sophie Cave that was too good not to share. I’m not exactly sure when the exhibition was up, and for how long, but the images of the 50 Floating Heads she installed is making its rounds throughout the net. The artist installed 50 floating heads, each one with an expression frozen, something that apparently was freaking out some of the patrons of the museum. Reminds me a bot of the busts that were created by Franz Xavier Messerschmidt (featured).

This reminds me a little too much of Robert Arneson…
I can see a little bit of influence there, but it could also be linked to Franz Xavier Messerschmidt as stated in the post. He did these pained, grotesque like faces many years prior.
