1xrun.com has released a new print for Monday, this one is also co-curated by the Creep Machine. The goal for me was to help spread the work of some artists I really think the fans would enjoy having a print of, and the best part about 1xrun.com is that they are affordable and the quality is top notch. The print is entitled “Deep Forest Walk”, is 18″ x 13.5″ on 100% Archival Cotton Paper and is signed and numbered in a max edition of 40. Each print comes with a certificate of authenticity. At the time of writing this, the print is almost sold-out, so it’s clear this was a great image to choose. Head on over and make sure you get one of these amazing prints.
Prints: “Light Waters” by Michael Page
Virtu Art Gallery has just released a new exclusive, limited edition print by Michael Page. “Light Waters” is 18 1/2 x 14 3/4 on hand embellished canvas, signed and numbered in an edition of 25. Each print also comes with a certificate of authenticity. The print comes from Michael Page’s solo show “Into Passing” (reviewed) that took place at the Shooting Gallery a while back, and for those that read the review you might remember how much I raved about this painting. It’s a beautiful image and not only am I happy it made into a print, but that this very small edition will be hand embellished by the artist as well.

Review: Michael Page’s “Into Passing” @ Shooting Gallery

Michael Page’s latest solo show, “Into Passing” opened at the Shooting Gallery in San Francisco almost two weeks ago on February 12th. I wasn’t able to make the reception, or even see the show up until this past week. The show will be up until March 5th and I highly suggest that if you are in the area, you see this show in person. I have been a fan of Michael’s work ever since I first saw his more narrative styled works at Varnish Art Gallery back in 2006. Since those earlier shows, his paintings have slowly evolved into a more abstract and now vividly colored body of work. Looking closely at each of the paintings you can still see the signature style of figures that he has always created, but now they are intertwined within the mass of abstract forms and loosely applied streams of color.

Hi Fructose 5th Anniversary Exhibition @ Copro Gallery
This past March 13th, the Copro Galley opened the 5th Anniversary Exhibition for Hi Fructose. Along with this amazing group show, Eric Fortune and Michael Page also had solo shows up as well. The group show featured some inspiring work by KMNDZ, Scott Hove, Martin Wittfooth, Lori Earley, Eric Fortune, Craola, Chet Zar, Amy Sol, Kris Kuksi, Jonathan Viner, Chris Mars and many more. The Eric Fortune works are not up on the site as of yet, but the Michael Page solo show is. His latest works have been more abstract, and less figurative than earlier pieces. These paintings still hold the same narrative feel that his older works had, and are even more mysterious than ever. The colors are breathtaking, and I like the idea that he decided to change his work up a bit. Take a look at the preview images from the shows, and then head on over and see all of the works.

Dark Pop 2.0 @ Last Rites Gallery
Opening this Saturday Night, January 9th at the Last Rites Gallery in New York is the second installment of the Dark Pop group show. The shows will feature artists that don’t necessarily always create dark art but will do so for this show. Some of the artists are mainly “dark” in all of their works, so it should be a good mix of ideas. The artists that will be participating are: Esao Andrews, John Cebollero (Interviewed), Joshua Clay, Molly Crabapple, Amy Crehore, Yoko d’Holbachie, Leslie Ditto, Eric Fortune, GAIA, Stella Im Hultberg, Sarah Joncas (Interviewed), Danni Shinya Luo, David MacDowell, Mike Maxwell, Tara McPherson, Michael Page, Leslie Reppeteaux, Mijn Schatje and more.
Take a look at the preview pics and then make sure you keep on eye on the site for the full show.
