aotd: “Angel with an Apple” by John Waterson

Today’s piece is from John Waterson otherwise known as Blutack. Sadly, John passed away March 13th, I just found out this past weekend. He was insanely talented and I was so looking forward to seeing his art spread through the art world. One look at his gallery and it’s quite clear to see that it was only a matter of time before he was at the top. He was only 23 years old, it’s hard to imagine how amazing his work would have been in later years.

I exchanged words with him just a few times, so while I can’t say that we were friends I can say I was a huge fan of his work. Check out his gallery here: John Waterson Gallery

Can prints be purchased anywhere? Anything offered by his estate? I can’t seem to find an official web site… Is the gallery on the Deviant Art site maintained by his estate? I mean, I see two prints offered for sale on the site… Just wondering if they are authorized. Sadly, it looks like the gallery is actually orphaned.

Entropy: Sadly no, the only way we are able to enjoy John’s art is images on the web. Nothing is for sale, and no one manages the Deviantart print shop.
