Antonio Roybal is an artist out of New Mexico, he is mostly self-taught but also studied with Austrian painter Ernst Fuchs. His work is very surreal and filled with iconographic elements. The painting shown is 22.5″ x 26.5″ egg tempera and oil on wood panel. The painting was done using the mische technique, which is said to be the way the Flemish masters such as Jan Van Eyck painted.
Antonio put this painting up on his Etsy site so “Instead of selling it at a gallery, I thought I would sell it on here for those who can’t make it to the galleries.”
