There are some really killer shows opening up this weekend, it’s almost ridiculous. Check em out, most of the shows are viewable online already.
Opening up this Friday at the Strychnin Gallery in London is Chet Zar’s solo show “Ugly American”. I posted earlier about the Catalog for the show, but if you can’t wait the show is online right now for you too check out. All the work looks amazing, maybe one day I will see his work up close. Check out the show here: Strychnin Gallery
Also this Friday is Amy Sol’s solo show “Karmic Magic” opens up at the Thinkspace Gallery. Dan-ah Kim also has a solo show in the project room entitled “Departing Flights”. Check out the shows here: Thinkspace Gallery
On Saturday Sylvia Ji has her solo show at the White Walls Gallery in SF, and right next door at the Shooting Gallery is the solo show of Greg Gossel. Both shows look great, I really dig what Sylvia has been doing lately. Check out the shows here: White Walls SF, Shooting Gallery SF
There is also a great group show at the Bear and Bird Gallery in Florida, “Yokai in Your Eye”. “Japanese Ghostly Zoology as seen through the eyes of a variety of North American artists (+Naoto Hattori).” The show also features work by Attaboy, Andrew Bell, Brandt Peters, Michael Slack, Nathan Stapley and many others. Check out the show here: Bear and Bird Gallery
The show that really has me excited this weekend is the solo show of Glenn Barr at the Billy Shire Fine Arts Gallery. The show opens this Saturday, and the work is all online right now to view. It looks so amazing. Glenn’s work is really the only artist that I haven’t seen the work in person, but I will one day no doubt. Check out the show here: Billy Shire Fine Arts
