I can’t believe I didn’t know about this. DvA Gallery started an “Auction for Art Education” back in January. Artists send in paint brushes that they have used, often with prints, and then on Saturday June 23rd DvA Gallery will have a show with all the brushes framed up, as well as having a 7 day auction for the brushes.
100% of the proceeds go to help art education, for victims of natural disasters to help them rebuild art in their area. Sounds like a worthy cause to me.
Head on over to the page to see who’s contributed so far, Audrey Kawasaki, Lori Early, Ryan Heshka, Scott Musgrove, Anthony Ausgang, John John Jesse, Shag, Mark Ryden, etc etc. Lots of great artists and I’m sure there will be more. This seems to be shaping up t be as cool as the “Paint By Numbers” charity that was put on by the Corey Helford Gallery.
I’ll be following this one.
