“In The Trees: TWIN PEAKS 20th Anniversary Art Exhibition”

Opening tonight, February 12th, in Los Angeles at Clifton’s Brookdale is a group show dedicated to David Lynch’s cult television series “Twin Peaks”. The show will feature work by Glenn Barr, Tim Biskup, Scott Campbell, Paul Chatem, Ryan Heshka, Stella Im Hultberg, Ashley Wood, Jessica Joslin, Chris Mars, Liz McGrath, Eric White, and more. Clifton’s Brookdale is a very unique restaurant, however the artwork for the show has been placed online so those of us that aren’t able to make it to the show, and grab some food, will be able to check of some of this outstanding work. I really like what Stella Im Hultberg came up with, the contrast and colors are perfect.

This show will featured over 50 works by Ashley Wood, along with art from Phil Hale, Jeremy Geddes, Rufus Dayglo, Dorophy Tang, and Kenny Wong. A blog has also been started, so those that want to follow the event can head on over to the Beijing Gathering Blogspot and check it out. The lineup of this show is amazing, I really hope the work from this exhibition make its way online. In the meantime, here are some preview images from Ashley Wood of work that will be on show.

Ashley Wood’s online exclusive art show at Scott Eder Gallery

The Scott Eder Gallery is currently having and “Online Exclusive Art Show” featuring work by Ashley Wood. The feature has selections of work from 48 More Nudes, World War Robot, Spawn Book of the Dead and more. There is a good mixture of oils works as well as ink on paper. I really love how energetic and often violent his works looks like, very similar to the way that Ralph Steadman and Ben Templesmith handle inks.

A huge majority of the works are nudes, so I’ll just post this preview, unless the Creep Machine readers don’t mind nudity I don’t think I have ever asked yet?

“I Am 8 Bit” at World of Wonder on August 14th

Tonight is the night that the latest “I am 8 Bit” show opens up. This time the show is at the World of Wonder Storefront Gallery. I took a look at the site, but no work there yet and not sure where they are going to put it.

There is a killer list of artists in the show, some great new ones and one that are veterans of the 8 bit art show. Here is the lineup: Joe Ledbetter, Scott C., Jim Mahfood, Ashley Wood, Amanda Visell, Jose Emroca Flores, Luke Chueh, Bigfoot, Yoskay Yamamoto, Kofie One, Angry Woebots, Gerald de Jesus, Tessar Lo, Gabe Swarr, Jorge R. Gutierrez, Carlos Ramos, Joe Vaux, Joe Shea, Benjamin Marra, Deseo, Mr. Jago, Jude Buffum, Michelle Valigura, Suckadelic, DGPH, Jim Stoten, Tanner Goldbeck, Scott Belcastro, Tony Mora, Nate Frizzell, Elizabeth Ito, ZOSO, The Chung, Ray Frenden, and David Goldberg.

There are already some pics from the show circulating around, and the work by Scott Belcastro (shown) has to be my favorite so far. The colors and layout and amazing, and it really fits the whole Legend of Zelda theme perfectly, kind of like Scott should have always been the designer for the game. I heard there will be prints of these as well, at least I really hope so.

Ashley Wood’s latest figure is now ready for pre-order over on his site. The figure is 12″ tall and is yours for the price of $130, which also ships to you no matter where you are in the world, free.

I like the Bertie toys that he has released but this figure, along with being more affordable, looks pretty cool. It ships at the end of August, but no reason to wait. Head on over to his Bambaland Store and check it out. Bambalandstore.com

WWR “Bertie” by Ashley Wood now for sale

ashleywood_bertie.jpg
The very first collectible toy by Ashley Wood is now available. WWR “Bertie” comes in two different versions, Desert Rat Bertie and Dirty Deeds Bertie. The latter is my favorite, the color is a little more my style.

The first 40 orders for each toy comes with a limited edition signed giclee print (shown). I like the print a lot, I wish this was offered on it’s own. I don’t collect many toys, but I am a big fan of prints. Anyway, both versions of the toys are ready to order so head on over if you want to grab one, or just check em out.
