“Noctem” print by Justin Kamerer

Justin Kamerer (Angryblue) has just released a new set of prints. “Noctem” comes in either blue or red, and is 14″ x 21″ limited to 30 for blue and 60 for red, and is only $20 + shipping. If these are anything like the the other prints I have seen from Justin, they are super nice looking in person.

New paintings from Dennis Brown

Dennis “Bagger43″ Brown has added some new paintings to his blog. Entitled “Mr Thurs” and “Mrs Fri”, each painting is acrylic on wood panel 8″ x 8″. I love the colors, the markings and the energy in both of these works. The colors used in the faces contrasted with the white “palette” knifed look of the background is very dynamic.

Take a look at Dennis’ blog for more work and to keep up with any news he might have:

Frank Frazetta’s “Conan the Conquerer” sells for $1 million

According to Spectrum Fantastic Art, Frank Frazetta’s “Conan the Conquerer” painting that was used for the cover of Robert E. Howard book by the same name, has been sold to an undisclosed collector for $1 million. A previous painting by Frazetta had sold for around $250,000, so this is quite a jump. All of the Conan cover paintings are on display in the Frazetta Museum and it’s not sure whether or not they will go on sale, but I doubt they will fetch as large a price as “Conan the Conquerer” is considered the “penultimate painting in the canon.”

“Sugarwater” artist edition print by Joshua Petker

Back in September I posted about the Sugarwater print by Joshua Petker @ Poster Child Prints. The artist edition of this print is now available. This print is 18″ x 24″ on Arches 88 100% Cotton Paper, signed and numbered in an edition of only 10. The great thing about this edition is that each print is embellished by Joshua using paint and glitter, so each print is unique.

New prints from Eric Fortune and Joao Ruas @ Paper Tiger

A Paper Tiger has added two new prints to the online shop. “Haunted #20″ from Brazilian artist Joao Ruas, and “A Place That I Remember” by Eric Fortune. Both of these new prints are based on original work that is currently a part of the “Go East” exhibition from Lebasse Projects, both originals have sold so if you are as hooked on these two pieces as I am, these prints are very welcomed.
Each print is roughly 12″ x 16″, signed and numbered in editions of only 25 for $100 a pop. I don’t imagine these prints to stick around very long, they are both beautiful images from two very exciting artists.

Artist Profiles: Kate Daly

Kate Daly is an artist currently residing in New York. She has spent the last year working on her “Have a Heart” series, that started “as a sort of tribute to the heart as an anatomical structure and an expression of all the meaning that has been bestowed upon it as a symbol.” Most of the works are oil paint on canvas or wood. Here are a few examples of her work, hit the “read more” to see the rest and read a statement by Kate.

“Dolphine Safe Kraken” print by Andrew Bell

Andrew Bell has just released a new screenprint. “Dolphin Safe Kraken” was first printed as a blue version for the 50 lucky folks subscribed to his monthly print club, but now a red version is available for everyone else. This print is a 8-color screenprint 18″ x 24″, signed and numbered in an edition of 100. There is water based and enamel inks on 335gsm Coventry Rag Paper. If you let the light hit certain areas, the enamel ink really shines.

“Astatine” end of the year show @ Halogen Gallery

Halogen Gallery (formerly known as Suite 100) will be closing it’s doors for foreseeable future. “Astatine”, named after the “last of the halogens on the periodic table”, will be the final group show the gallery puts on. There are works available from Aaron Kraten, Amy Earles, Chris Sheridan, EGO, Jeremiah Ketner, Lesley Reppeteaux, Max Kauffman, Parskid, Weirdo and many more. The work all seems to be very affordable as well, for instance the beautifully framed drawings by EGO (shown) are around $100.

New prints from Jeremy Forson

Jeremy Forson has added some new prints to his Etsy shop. A few of these new prints are from Jeremy’s “Lost Fight” solo show that opened in September @ Edo Gallery in San Francisco (previewed here). I’m glad he decided to make some prints from some of the new work that he has been creating, especially “Kissy Face” (shown first), it’s such an amazing painting. The latest prints are all 8.5″ x 11″, signed and numbered in editions of 10 for $15 a pop.

New prints by Electric Zombie

Kyle Crawford, the man behind Electric Zombie, has added some new screenprints to the online shop. “Reaper”, “Badge”, “Manhattan” & “Fang Face” are all 18″ x 24″, shipped in a tube and $25 a pop, or you can get all four of them for $80. I really dig the Fang Face and Manhattan print, that has to be one of the cooler “Friday the 13th” inspired prints I have seen so far. Thanks to omgposters.com for the heads up on these.
