This Thursday, December 15th at 1PM PST, Mia Araujo will be releasing her first print entitled “Sleeping Sickness”. The print will come in two sizes, 16″ x 24″ in a signed and numbered edition of 25, and a mini-print 8″ x 12″ signed and numbered in an edition of 75. The best part, aside from a beautiful print, is the fan appreciation component. Every 5 orders Mia will choose a random number and that order will receive a free mini-sketch (roughly 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″, graphite and white pencil on toned paper). There is 20 sketches in total, and the print sale is limited to 2 per customer, so there is a really good chance you can score a free sketch from Mia. Keep your eye on the site tomorrow, and you can also follow Mia on Facebook and Twitter, as she will be sending out reminders.
New prints by Tim Doyle @ Spoke Art
This Friday, December 9th, Spoke Art will be releasing two new prints by Tim Doyle. The great thing about these prints is that they are screen-prints on wood panel, so I imagine you can just hang them up with no worries about framing. The first print is entitled Got to be Kind and is inspired by Kurt Vonnegut. The image was first made for the Adaptation Author’s show at Benjamin Benjamin Gallery in Portland. The print is 16″ x 20″, serigraph on wood, signed and numbered in an edition of 15. The next print is He is the Zissou and is based on Bill Murray’s character from The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. This print comes in two versions, one on wood and one on paper. Both prints are 16″ x 20″, signed and numbered in editions of 75 for paper, and 10 for wood. The wood prints are limited one per customer.

New series of paintings by Edith Lebeau
Edith Lebeau currently has a new series of works on view at the Trifecta Gallery for their “minUMENTAL invitational 2011″. Each of the paintings below I imagine is no larger than 8″ x 8″, acrylic on wood panel. I love the idea that Edith created some smaller paintings, something that fans of smaller art can collect. I also like how the color palette is very congruous, and the position of each the figures also helps to make this a very strong series. I hope we see more tiny series like this from Edith in the future. Head on over to the gallery to check out the full show, and if you are interested in one of the paintings Edith created, message the gallery.
100 Souls Project by Steven Russell Black
An artist working out of Mill Vally, CA, Steven Russell Black is “completely in love with making images”, and one look at the skill and beauty of his work and there’s a good chance you’ll fall in love with his images as well. Along with working in oils, Steven also creates with the use of graphite and prismacolor pencils — as seen in his latest ongoing series “100 Souls”. He states that “eyes are the windows to the soul”, and this series is about presenting 100 of them. The great thing about this series, aside from how outstanding they look, is the variety in what you see. Faces from different angles, sometimes bordering abstract, eyes that are from animals, skulls, or even made up creatures, and the idea that even though the viewer is really only seeing small portion of the face, the images allow us to infer our own idea of the mood and character of the figure we are looking at. You can keep up with this ongoing series by following Steven on Flickr, his blog, and even pick one of these drawings up over on his Etsy shop.
Prints: “Love Never Dies” by Kevin Llewellyn

The print is 17″ x 13″, signed and numbered in red pencil in an edition of 25. Fans also have the option to purchase the print along with the first 2 foetal prints, although there are very few of those left.

Molly Crabapple and the 99%
To continue the conversation that Josh started in his earlier post on Shepard Fairey’s “Occupy Hope”, I thought I’d let you know about the art-minded support Molly Crabapple has been lending to Occupy Wall Street in New York City since the movement began. Many of the sketches she has been doing have been available for free for protesters to print out for use in the crowds. She has also been donating a portion of the money from the sales of prints of these artworks to the Occupy Wall Street cause. Check out her website, mollycrabapple.com, for recent information on the prints below (some are no longer available – they go fast).
The image below can be purchased through Occuprint.org where many other Occupy artworks are available:
Prints: “Post American Gothic” by Chet Zar

The print is 11″ x 14″ on gallery wrapped canvas, signed and numbered in an edition of 100. The regular price is $125 but the print is on sale right now for $115. Love that idea that the print comes gallery wrapped alway, so all you have to do it pop it up on the wall no worries about framing.

David Hochbaum Offering Limited Edition Book Sets
New York artist David Hochbaum‘s alchemical works, based around his personal twists of antique myths, are simultaneously unsettling and consoling. David’s photo collages are rife with repeating symbols that are weighty, almost anthropomorphic with personalities of their own, and arranged with highly skilled stagecraft. They are deceivingly easy to lock onto; to sympathize with what story unfolds on his picture-planes.
David recently began offering a limited edition book set that showcases three seperate bodies of his recent photo collage work: Creatures of the Sea and Sky, Kaiden Shu, and Large Format Polaroids. In addition to images of his artworks, these precious 5″x7″ books each contain one limited edition, 5″ x 7″ silkscreen mystery print on watercolor paper, all contained within a numbered, handmade, custom-printed sleeve.
These sets are available only through the artist directly. You can find more information about David’s artwork and the box set on his website. To inquire about purchasing, you can email him directly.

Prints: “Tokyo Neon” by Dan Kitchener @ 1xrun
1xrun has a new time limited print up on the site. Tokyo Neon by Dan Kitchener is the second release he has had on 1xrun, and is very different that the first one he had (here), which was more architectural. This new print features a geisha painted in a very brushy, and energetic style. It’s an amazing image and I hope to see more like this. The print is limited to a max edition of 50, is 17″ x 18″ and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
