“Starlight” print by Dan May

The Definition Gallery has a new exclusive print available by Dan May. The print comes in two sizes, 11″ x 14″ at $75 and 16″ x 20″ at $100. They are signed and numbered and also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, each size is an edition of 75.

I really love Dan May’s style, the colors he uses, the visible drybrushing in each work. I am also amazed at how perfect the hair looks like in this one, it’s hard to believe it was painted.
You will have to work your way over to Limited Editions Inventory to get to this print, easiest way is just to e-mail the gallery if you want.

Original paintings by Molly Brill

A bit back I featured the work of Molly Brill. She makes these amazing paintings using watercolors, acrylics, watercolor pencils and charcoal. Each piece is filled with texture and color, always giving your eye something interesting to look at.

She recently moved and is now living in Ontario, Canada. She started a livejournal and Flickr account, to help people keep track of new works, shows and hopefully some prints. She also have about seven original works for sale, each one of them is $200 (plus s&h). Here is just a few from the list for sale, they are amazing. I would love to see them in an ornate frame. Head on over and take a look at all the pieces she is selling. Molly Brill Original Paintings

Audrey Kawasaki’s “timed edition” print sale

A year ago Audrey had a timed edition print sale to help combat the problem of not enough fans getting access to her prints. So everyone that purchased a print in one hour were guaranteed a print, and that amount determined the edition number as well.

It’s still a trial to get one of her prints. They sell out almost instantaneously, and then you see Ebay is filled with the prints for sale at bloated prices, something that is getting ridiculous as well. So it looks like it’s time to do another “timed edition” sale. This time she is asking people to vote for which print will go on sale, so while you will no doubt be able to get a print, the voting will determine which one it is. So head on over to her livejournal account and vote, you get a choice of six different prints.

New “zombie” inspired prints by Cate Rangel

You might remember the zombie themed piece by Cate Rangel that I featured a bit back. I talked to her shortly after to see if she was going to make prints, she said yes and they are available right now.

“Living Dead Girl” is the first painting she did with the zombie idea, and then “This Side of Hell” came next. Each print is limited to an edition of 100 signed and numbered with a COA, are on watercolor paper and are 13″ x 19″. These prints are made with the amazing Ultrachome inks, so I cam imagine these look amazing in person.

Head on over and check em out. Cate Rangel Store

“She Who Dares” print by Audrey Kawasaki

This Sunday, November 16th at 6pm Pacific time, the remaining stock of “She Who Dares” prints will go on sale. You have the option to get just the print, or have it come framed. You get the same frame that is used in the preview image, I think that looks really good. Especially since the white border around the image is minimal, and Audrey has started to sign the prints in the image area as opposed to the white border.

The print is 18″ x 21″, giclee on archival hahnemuhle paper. The print is signed and numbered in an edition of 200 (115 of them available). There is also a certificate of authenticity. Make sure you go over to her site and get registered, or you wont be able to buy one of the prints, and will no doubt be at the mercy at those that flip these prints on eBay.

Released: “Fables: Covers” book by James Jean

Every week when I go out to pick up the latest comics, I have a bad habit of often buying a few based on how amazing the cover is. Fables is one of those comics. I am told the stories are great, but it’s really the art by James Jean on the cover that draws me in.

If you head on over to his website, he now has a book filled with covers, sketches and progress shots. The book is hardbound, 208 pages, 2-sided 4 color dust jacket, black foil embossing and 1 Color tipped-in plate on the case. The book is also signed if you buy it from his online shop, or you can get it signed in person at the Gallery Nucleus on November 29th. The book looks amazing and will be a good replacement for all the loose Fables comics I have.

Our New Sponsor: Metro Orange Art

I would like to welcome the Creep Machine’s newest sponsor, Metro Orange Art. If you check out the site you will see that they have a wide range of prints, sculptures and even some originals. I featured one of the prints available from Leslie Ditto last week for SFWeekly.com, and along with her prints you can find prints from Ron English, Van Arno, Shawn Barber, Benji Williams, Anthony Ausgang and many others.

The Creep Machine is managed by just one person and it takes quite a lot to keep this site going, so any help is much appreciated.

Shows now online: Imaginary Friends, Drawing Room & Destination Unknown

Looks like its going to be another one of those weekends that is just filled with great shows opening up.
Here we go, these are the ones that are online for your viewing pleasure:

“Imaginary Friends”, a group show featuring work by Andrew Bell, Cherri Wood, Israel Sanchez, Ken Garduno, Scott Campbell & Yoskay Yomamoto at the Gallery 1988 SF is now up. The work looks amazing, and I am especially drawn to the pieces that Ken Garduno (shown) and Andrew Bell submitted. Check it out: Gallery 1988 SF

“Destination Unknown” opened up and Distinction Art, and features work by Sarah Joncas, Angelina Wrona & Patrick Fatica. It’s a good looking show, as all the work by the three artists flows together nicely. It’s very cohesive. Check it out here: Distinction Art

“The Drawing Room” a show curated by Audrey Kawasaki opened Friday at Thinkspace. There is also work by Timothy Karpinski & Robert Pokorny in the project room. I think the Drawing Room show looks great, it’s nice to be able to see some graphite work from Travis Louie (shown), as well as Audrey (shown). I hope he puts more of that kind of work in some shows. Thinkspace Gallery

At the Cerasoli-Lebasse Gallery, you have two shows that opened up. Jill Simonson & Scott Belcastro, as well as “Put on a Happy Face” by Nate Frizzell. All the work here looks excellent, check it out: Cerasoli-Lebasse Gallery

The Copro Nason Gallery has work by Tin, Sas Christian & Kukula for you to gawk at. Tin is getting popular very fast, no works are left to purchase. I am not super happy with Sas’ work, I am a big fan, but these pieces just don’t have the same pop to them. Check out the show here: Copro Nason Gallery
