Prints: “Light Waters” by Michael Page

Virtu Art Gallery has just released a new exclusive, limited edition print by Michael Page. “Light Waters” is 18 1/2 x 14 3/4 on hand embellished canvas, signed and numbered in an edition of 25. Each print also comes with a certificate of authenticity. The print comes from Michael Page’s solo show “Into Passing” (reviewed) that took place at the Shooting Gallery a while back, and for those that read the review you might remember how much I raved about this painting. It’s a beautiful image and not only am I happy it made into a print, but that this very small edition will be hand embellished by the artist as well.

New prints by Jonathan Viner

It’s been quite a while since Jonathan Viner has released any new prints, but this past week he has ended the break and released three new prints. “Above the Terminal” at 18″ x 23.5″ in an edition of 50, Tundra Hi-Fi” 15″ x 22″ edition of 50, and “Hairpin” 12″ x 12″ edition of 200. Each print is on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag, signed and numbered, and coated with three coats of matte varnish to ensure durability. I do hope that along with these new prints, Viner decides to release some new drawings to his shop as well.

Mastermind of graphite, Laurie Lipton has some limited edition etchings now available in her online shop. The great thing about etchings is the clarity of the print, and with Laurie’s intense detail, etchings are the best choice. The etchings range is size, but are around 17″ x 20″, signed and numbered by the artist in editions of 60.

Flotsam

In case you missed it, Allison Sommers recently released a sweet new book called Flotsam.  Containing images culled from her Moleskine sketchbooks of 2010 and 2011, you can see from where many of her painting ideas sprung, and enjoy her grotesque, lumpy and loveable creatures in embryonic form.

Allison currently has work up in Jason Levesque’s curated exhibition in Virginia and Thinkspace is planning on including her work in a special project taking place in Arizona in the coming months.  I also have to mention that following her twitter stream is quite entertaining; this woman has a fantastically snarky sense of humor.  You probably could have assumed that from looking at her work.

Prints: “Buntacles” by Phineas X Jones

Phineas X Jones is an artist and designer working out of Chicago. His site is entitled Octophant, and if you check out the information page he has a story about how that name came to be. His store is loaded with amazing prints, but there is one in particular I wanted to share. “Buntacles” is a 14″ x 11″ 6 color screen print on French Speckletone Kraft 100 Lb Cover paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 100. It’s an amazing looking print, and for $25, you can’t go wrong. That damask pattern in the back would look intense with a decorative frame.

Jelly Skull Series by Jason Levesque

Jason Levesque (Stuntkid) has just released a series of watercolor painting entitled “Jelly Skull”. Each one is 7″ x 10″ on heavy watercolor paper, framed at 10″ x 13″. It’s a great idea, and the idea that these were painted with watercolor, instead of being digital is a nice tough. I like the feel of the paper and the light washes of color that the Jelly Skull’s have. Jason put these up in his online shop you can see at the link below.

Prints: “Lush” by Aaron Nagel

Aaron’s solo exhibition “The Thin Line” is currently still up at the Shooting Gallery in SF, and there is now a new limited edition giclee available. “Lush” is a 21″ x 27.45″ print on archival paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 30. The original painting was done more than a year ago, and was shown in the Yves Laroche gallery. The print was technically dropped on March 2011, but since his show is still going on I thought this would be a good time to share it.
